His contract says otherwise.  There was a lot of behind the scene stuff with his effort.  And it followed him to Miami and proof is in his paragraph 5.

I get that the durability issues probably did Long in at the Titans but this might be the first move from the Carthon/Vrabel regime that I have some reservations about.

So they aren't the favorites

David Long was a very good all around linebacker and the Titans were clearly better with him than without him.  They clearly must have felt that the injury issues were not going away.  That’s all I ca

I'm surprised at how cheap he signed. The Titans didn't want him back and the league didn't value him as much as I thought.

Off ball LB just aren't valued and don't command a big salary (aside from 2 signings yesterdays), add in the injury stuff with him and it's easy in retrospect to se why he signed for so little.

I like Long but some of you are insane with the man love you have for him. The fact he signed for 2 years and 11M total should tell you how the NFL felt about him. The guy they replaced him with is an upgrade imo.

While Vrabel is known as a players coach, it’s a dick move to call a specific player out on this when he’s just getting into FA

Long has reason to be pissed

No it isn't.  And clearly based on the deal he got, the NFL had concerns about his durability....

I'm not arguing that he should have gotten more....  Injuries are clearly a concern.

But what does Vrabel gain by calling him out by name when he's no longer on the team?
