The Titans thoroughly dominated it from start to probably the point of the blocked kick for the TD. It was inexcusable that they lost that game. They also dominated the other game but the Ravens did at least make some plays and move the ball. Trent Dilfer had, what, five completions? It was ridiculous. I guess I'll just have to suffer from Fred Tayloritis for the rest of my life. I will always consider the Titans the better team over the Ravens. Just like I consider the Starks the better house over the Lannisters. Robb was winning the fuck out of all those little battles, but that sneaky, conniving bullshit got their throats cut and lost the war. "The Al Del Greco's send their regards." scine09
I seriously don't blame Del Greco. He was what he was at that point. I blame Fisher for the loss. Del Greco had been shaky all year and he was playing way too conservatively. Instead of putting the Ravens away it was run, run pass and settle for 3. McNair did not play a good game either. But it never should've come down to Del Greco. They should have opened it up more. It might have honestly been a blowout had they done that. rns90

I remember at some point it was 24 first downs gained to Baltimore's 7. But as you said they were way too conservative.
BudsOilers
IDK how anyone can't blame Del Greco. He personally accounted for a 16 point swing.....conservative or not. As for McNair, he was fine until he got body slammed to the turf on a non-call roughing the passer that messed his shoulder up. He was definitely the issue in 2000 for not getting rid of Del Greco, who was the issue in 99. Just let this sink in: Del Greco is THE culprit for why the Titans didn't win back to back Super Bowls in 99 and 00. Everyone looks at the Titans now as "oh yeah, that's that team that Kurt Warner beat in his first Super Bowl." Or, "oh yeah, that's the team Ray Lewis shut down." That's how fine a line it was from being considered an all-time team and an also-ran. The 99-00 Titans should be seen as a dynasty. They were forged by the path less traveled nature of the move from Houston to Nashville in the 3/4 years prior. They were vagabonds that overcame a lot of shit to get to the pinnacle. Top to bottom they were the best team of their championship window, but that will never be the public narrative for them. Thanks to Del Fucko and Fishbait. Also, fuck YOU Brian Asslick. You are the Trent Dildo of NFL head coaches, you lucky fuck.

The game up in Philadephia a few weeks earlier that season after the loss to the Ravens in Nashville made Fisher feel super-justified in sticking with him. I'm sure we could copypasta some defenses of Titans kicking from the past few years to get to Fisher's exact mindset.

Thats the reason I find it crazy when fans say "I'd rather have the higher pick than make the playoffs". Ravens have two super bowls, both coming in as a wild card. Both times we had super low moments during the season. Punch the ticket and maybe you'll get hot at the right time.....oh and also a ton of luck helps too. Dilfer and Flacco enough said. A kicker is more important than some backup lineman that probably won't have much of an impact. NashvilleNinja
nine
Titans and Ravens have faced each other five times in the postseason: 2000, 2003, 2008, 2019, and 2020. Three of those games were in Tennessee....two were in Baltimore. As I recall, the home team was favored in every one of those matchups; the crazy part is that the favored home team ended up getting upset by the visiting underdog every single time. Home teams are currently 0-5 in that series. Edit: From 2000-2021, the Titan and Ravens faced each other 18 times in all; the visiting teams went 13-5 in those games. Crazy. In the 2001 playoff game Dilfer was 5-15 and 115 yards passing IIRC and the guy has a superbowl ring. Of course both the Titans and the Ravens had incredible defenses that year, #1 and #2 in the league, and that's why we were both in the playoffs. I was at that game and during pregame, the Titans played Billicks pregame locker room speech where he repeatedly said "FUCK THE TITANS" on the jumbotron at the stadium. My wife turned to me and said "that's going to bite the Titans in the ass." I laughed and said "no way!" Ratbird
