That's not what's going on, imo. Several members of Trump world are floating the idea that the FBI planted evidence. They know that the presence of classified documents will eventually come out. They are trying to front run the story and give an explanation to Trump's base on what happened. That's why they aren't claiming no classified documents were present. The message to Trump's base is who do you believe....Trump or the FBI? The message isn't.....I'm innocent because no documents were present. Trump's base will swallow it, hook, line and sinker. He'll be stronger politically, at least in the short run. Even guys like DeSantis and Pence are supporting his BS. They have no answer.
