9 Nines
Arch Manning verbally committed to Texas, which means he will either sit a few years or compete with Quinn Ewers to be starter. He must be inviting competition since he could have gone anywhere. Perhaps he feels it will make him better.
wiscotitansfan
There’s no competition and he knows it
CaliTitan3518
Anything can happen now days with the transfer portal being the way it is. Ewers can sling it and he gets a chance to show what he can do before Manning comes to town.
abenjami
Ewers will be hitting the transfer portal soon. LOL

LOL Ewers is technically a 2nd year freshman meaning he can enter the 2024 draft. Manning would only sit his 1st season if that were to happen. Ewers will have a short leash for the 2023 season but no point in transferring until he actually loses his starting QB job.

You could say the same thing for Peyton and Eli. Neither really achieved much in high school and they didn't compete at a top national level. They were kids of a HOF QB and that was the biggest thing on their resumes.

Downtown
Arch got his ass handed to him with 7/16 passing for 52yards and 1int in the playoffs while the other kid goes 300+ and 6 total TDs in 1 half of play. Maybe Arch is not exactly all that…
Bink
Arch certainly has some incredible tape, it's not just name value. But he's getting to the point where he's going to be facing stiffer competition and seeking out an opportunity where Ewers already is seems kind of nuts to me. Then again, anywhere Arch goes he'll face competition for the most part. I thought he was going to go to Bama to chase a title. Ewers is legit. His arm is absolutely live. Payton Manning went 34-5 in 3 years starting in high school, won multiple player of the year awards nationally his senior year and was recruited by virtually every major school. He was the top recruited QB.

He was the top recruited QB. Arch Manning is 25-6 in 3 years starting so far. Isidore Newman competes against low level comp and never competes at the state level. The stats are very similar. Arch is the top rated recruit for his class and could have gone to any college he wanted. We will see if he wins any awards. Now days exposure is 10000x better than it was in 1993 so Im sure Mannings name helped secure those awards. The storyline is very similar.
TitansGuru
If Arch did not have the Manning name he would be a four star. Nico and Malachi Nelson are both better, in my opinion.
CaliTitan3518
Ewers looked really good in that 1st Quarter against Bama. Hopefully the injury isn’t anything too serious.
