Au contraire…..if you’ll recall, Trump announced at one of his campaign rallies that after he won re-election and served his second term,  America would demand that he be given a third term because he had done such a incredible  job in his first eight years….and of course he would graciously accept, being the humble servant that he is.

The Jan. 6 committee has subpoenaed documentary filmmaker Alex Holder in regard to footage and interviews Holder and his team shot while following former President Donald Trump and his inner circle throughout the 2020 presidential campaign. Holder’s company, AJH Films, confirmed to Rolling Stone on Tuesday that he has been subpoenaed, will sit for an interview with the panel on Thursday, and has “fully complied with all of the committee’s requests.” 
 

Trump’s team was blindsided by the development, which was initially reported by Politico.

 

In some of the highest ranks of the Trumpworld diaspora — including among several who testified before the Jan. 6 committee — news of the documentarian cooperating with the congressional panel (and also potentially having reams of behind-the-scenes footage of Trump’s crusade to nullify the 2020 election) came as a bizarre surprise. “What the fuck is this?” a former top Trump 2020 official messaged Rolling Stone on Tuesday after seeing the Politico item.

 
 

Two former senior Trump administration officials, who were still working in the administration after the Jan. 6 riot, also claimed that they each had no idea the documentary was being shot in that timeframe, reportedly intimate access to Trump, his vice president, his family members, and his White House. Stephanie Grisham, who at that time was chief of staff to First Lady Melania Trump, told Rolling Stone she wasn’t aware of this documentary project either.

 

In other words: many of the people actually running Trump’s reelection operation are now saying they somehow had zero clue that an entire documentary was being filmed largely about Trump and his reelection campaign. And now the fruits of that doc are being mined for evidence by the congressional committee investigating Trump and his multi-pronged efforts to shred the American democratic order.

 

Holder released a statement later on Tuesday noting that he had “unparalleled access” to Trump and others over the final six weeks of his presidency and that he has “never-before-seen footage” of the Capitol attack. “When we began this project in September 2020, we could have never predicted that our work would one day be subpoenaed by Congress,” he wrote, adding that he had “no agenda coming into this” and only “wanted to better understand who the Trumps were and what motivated them to hold onto power so desperately.”

I talked with a Texas Trumper prior to the election.  He told me Biden would never concede the election if he lost.  I asked him if he thought Trump would concede if he lost.  He sat there for a few seconds, then said, “I don’t think he should”.

MSNBC guy Chris Hayes made the point yesterday that at the end Trump's lawyers were not relying at all on substantive, defensible facts or even a reasonable legal position when they made their demands of the local  election officials.  In fact oftentimes they dropped the entire pretense of the charade and effectively resorted to 'just do it, throw the election to Trump because of 'insert bs' and let the courts figure it out'.

 

I seriously cannot be more irate that the 'Team Normal' people around Trump did not do more to call this out real time.  They knew the extent of Trump's USA-be-damned, ego driven depravity.  They knew the seriousness of the situation as some election individuals did not fulfill their oaths.  They knew just how much discord Trump was sowing -- and indeed they probably liked that Biden's presidency was weakened with illegitimacy concerns before his first day in office. Jan6 is on their shitty hands as well as Team Crazy's.

It's funny how so many of you lap up everything said that goes along with your preferred narrative.   To be credible, witnesses must be cross-examined, and none of the Jan. 6 committee hearing witnesses has been.   This hearing is a partisan sham.

The facts are not in dispute. Often Trump says the same thing, smothered with his victimhood demagogue spin. There was no credible factual findings of voter fraud. This is the original sin, and why Trump still swears by it. Every part of Trump’s bullshit emanates from this false pretense.

Oh. You think this is a trial. 

 

Let me help you with that.

 

You see there's no judge or jury at these hearings. It's not a courtroom. No one is facing criminal charges during these proceedings. 

 

They do have witnesses and the witnesses are sworn in to tell the truth. But their testimony is to the people elected to represent us in Congress so we can get a truthful understanding of how a riot broke out on January 6th that delayed the certification of the election of the President-Elect. This is for the official record of history, like the Warren Report and the 9/11 Commission (although those were requested by the President at the time), those weren't trials either.

They would have said the poll workers were members of Black Lives Matter and would have shown pictures of the two women at a family reunion standing next to a relative with an Obama T-Shirt on.
