Bud on suicide watch

I'm still holding out hope Austin or San Antonio can swoop in at the last minute!

They're going to play 11 max Titans games there a year, and the way it's configured; it's going to be used multiple times that for other events, that's why Metro especially and the state to a lesser degree wanted a fixed roof and extensive plaza areas both in and outside of it. It's an entertainment venue that's configured for football. Actually, most of the newer stadiums are designed that way and they want to do it to the next level to a certain extent. I, myself, actually love pure oldschool outdoor football stadiums. Used to go to the ancient Yale Bowl where they played the annual Giants Jets ps game way back in the day as a kid and loved it.

I like to think 12 games max.

So that must include a Super Bowl at home?

Is a brand-spanking new stadium going to be enough to attract a top-flight coach? I've admired Vrabel in spite of his faults, but we see no corrections and he seems a beaten man now.

I bet that was a consideration for going with artificial turf too. Probably makes it easier to have other events

The turf decision came about for a few reasons - events inside is of course huge and will make more than games over the course of a year. Hard to grow grass with a covered roof and expensive to ship fresh grass in and out weekly while hoping it takes root. .

The other reason is because we are in-between growing zones climates. Too hot for bluegrass that holds up through the fall and too cold for southern grasses to do the same.

Well, rats! I was hoping you were being unreasonably optimistic.

2027 is four years from now.  Who knows what the state of the franchise will be at that point.
