Thrill
I would say there’s no way in hell this team ever leaves Nashville but I never thought the raiders would leave Oakland either.

The thing people there should be paying attention to is that the Titans President stated that nobody knows how they will pay for it while also admitting that the current stadium is not up to NFL standards. If the city/state botches the funding, the team almost assuredly will move. As I stated before, I don't care as I've followed them from city to city. You are making huge conclusory leaps without any evidence to back it up whatsoever. Metro won’t pay for 100% of it. From what I've seen discussed, it would be paid for by sale of Metro bonds, hotel tax, psl holders, ticket tax, state funding and by the team. Mayor Cooper has been adamant that the burden wouldn't fall on the residents by way of raising property taxes. When the team came to Nashville, the referendum vote passed by over 60% for bringing the team here and there are a lot mor Titans fans now than there was then. It’s not going to be from just one source. It’s going to be paid from multiple sources.

All I've said is that if the city/state botches the funding solution, the team will move. It's absolutely the inevitable outcome if they don't fund a new stadium, even if the Adams family doesn't really want to move. It's been the same story with almost every team relocation in the NFL for the past 30 years.
SuperFreak90
Looks like the plan is to build a new stadium beside the old one we have now, and tear the old one down, and make a parking lot were it is.

The splits are irrelevant in terms of the city, county, and state. The bottom line is that if the funding issue isn't resolved, it will result in the same outcome as other cities who've had the same problem. Not sure why you are being so obtuse to a very basic fact of doing business with the NFL. And of course, it would be hysterical if the team left Nashville for another city. flaming_thumbtack
Clearly Nashville SC is going to pay for it. ChesterCopperpot1

Not sure why you are acting like it’s some forgone conclusion there’s some dispute between the city and the team. Just a month ago they were looking at renovations. They just realized it wasn’t feasible. This shit doesn’t happen overnight.

That being said, the comments by the Titans CEO are pretty clear. The stadium is not up to NFL standards and they have to figure out how to fund a new stadium. Very clear messaging. If the city/state doesn't come up with funding the bulk of a new stadium, the team and the NFL absolutely will lead down their playbook path. Fund the brand new stadium or we will find a city who will. And as someone who could care less where they play, it would be really funny and ironic if Nashville screws the pooch on this and the team moves. I'll still follow them. Will you? rns90

That’s not the definition of irony. Lmao. And probably. I’ve been a fan of the team since they moved here. Also been a fan of the Braves despite never living in ATL. nine
As I recall, the Oilers relocation to Nashville was preceded by years of acrimony between Bud Adams and Houston's city mayor and leadership. With the Titans and Nashville, it sounds like everyone is already on the same page and moving in the same general direction...which makes relocation far less likely. There's also the fact that Bud Adams won't be involved in the conversation and negotiations....which can only be a good thing.
ctm
Last I read, the city of Nashville wasn't in good financial shape with a huge amount of debt. The state of TN. comptroller even threatened to take over their finances. That was 18 months or so ago and they've had a property tax increase since.
