The stock market is up on the year - which affects people's 401ks and pensions. Additionally, Biden has the pandemic under control for the non-rubes among the population, put stimulus checks of $1400 in the pockets of everyone, along with a sizeable CTC and student loan freeze for 1.5 years running. How is this not helping everyday Americans? How much spoon feeding is expected at this point? I get that inflation is an issue - and Biden needs to further address it by reducing tariffs and alleviating chip shortages to boost auto manufacturing. luvyablue256

The lower middle class has once again been left with the tab. There have been big gains for the poor and the service industry. Also huge gains for white collar and the Uber wealthy. The lower middle class wages haven’t really budged while prices have continued to rise, and they’re rightfully once again feeling left by the wayside. The Dems better figure out how to get the BBB passed in some form, especially the child credit.

Most people don’t give a fuck about the stock market. 10% of Americans own 90% of the equity. And half the country has basically no investments. What they do have is low wage jobs that don’t cover their rising housing, food, travel, medical, etc costs. Lol The economy is shit for a hundred million Americans (200 million?). That’s all that matters to them. Biden deserves credit for a stimulus check and a years's worth of child tax credits, but that’s all over. No one will give a shit come next year and people are going to blame the people in power. Can only give so many hand outs.

Decades of inflation with minimal wage growth has dwindled the middle class and buried everyone below that. Healthcare costs have skyrocketed. Education costs have skyrocketed. Housing costs have skyrocketed. Food, gas, and everything else has gone way up. Wages for the working class have been flat all that time. These people can’t just get a high paying job because they want one. And hell, society needs janitors and waiters and cashiers. No one says they need to live in the lap of luxury, but fuck it if they can’t afford everyday life then what’s the point? Either forcibly bring down the cost of living or give them some way to afford it. If I’m being honest, I don’t think we are that far from either a large scale work stoppage or more large scale protests. Millions of people are dropping out of the workforce every month because of shitty work conditions. It’s not slowing down yet. And there is anger over the record economic divide in this country. Millions of people are dropping out of the workforce every month because of shitty work conditions. It’s not slowing down yet. And there is anger over the record economic divide in this country. That's why the minimum wage needs to be increased, for starters. And obviously I'm all for more tax breaks for the middle class and universal pre-k so that a lot of women esp could re-enter the work force. Also for free community college. Around where I live in the Midwest (which I know is different than, say, rural West Virginia or Montana) - most fast food jobs and farm hand jobs are paying 14 dollars an hour. And Target, Starbucks, and even Walmart are paying for college tuition. Truck companies and school bus contractors are paying drivers big money and paying to train them, etc. There are jobs out there and pathways to move up, but yes it is hard. Workers have more agency and more options now than at any point in US history. Edited December 24, 2021 by tgo luvyablue256

The issue isn't Biden, it's the people only remembering the last paycheck and grocery/gas bill. The public in general is staggeringly shortsighted and ignorant to the broader economy. If I'm Biden, I'm choking the Fed governors & reserve chairman to dick around with interest rates to induce a level of deflation before the midterms.
