I come from a family of Virginia coal miners so no need to tell me, I know it employs a lot of people in key states.

That would be the President who inherited the worst economy since the great depression.  Also that was the President that lowered the inflation rate from 13.5% in 1980 to 6.1% in 1982.  Nice try though.
