That's why they go so hard on Biden for defying the foreign policy blob. They didn't care at all about Afghanistan until Biden's decision started to go poorly. It was only when Biden took some steps that the military industrial complex (for lack of a better term) were against that they started to be so passionate. I've also seen a lot of them painting progressives as the ones killing Biden's agenda. For the most part corporations support the infrastructure bill but not the BBB bill. So of course they paint the issue in the way that's beneficial to them. It also explains why things like climate change are afterthoughts in the media. Corporations/"the ruling class" (again, for lack of a better term) are mostly against policies that would actually fight climate change. If the mainstream media were truly right wing they would have not been so hard on Trump. The vast majority of actual right wingers fell in line and became Trump supporters. Trump was bad for a lot of the existing power structure though, and once he actually won they turned on him hard.
