The TR take   JR stays put=too conservative, not aggressive enough JR trades up=JR panicked he should've waited and let the fall board to him JR trades down=he panicked and let too

Fuck. Now we’re fucked...

I don't think it's a lock Jayon is gone. I'm glad we got a guy who will likely start right away in round 2 as opposed to a backup.

Sans the injury, he would've been gone this year. He's on a 1 year deal so if he balls out I doubt we shell out the cash to keep him.

That's also very different because Kearse had an edge rusher's body when he came out whereas Jayon looked like a fat safety at 231. Are you saying JOK can't play a similar role to Brown in our defense? Why?

JOK would need to add at least 15 pounds to be able to have a chance to stack and shed at Jayon's WILB spot. But my issue with JOK is that he is a total projection and highly raw

Instant draft grades are virtually worthless.  The future evaluation of this class will depend primarily on Farley.  He will either be a home run or a strikeout, imo, depending on if his back holds up.

I would also say if you looked at their first 3 rounds picks:  all of them are pretty polished and plug in an play for the most part.  Drafting an upside guy seems to be counter to what they drafted on day 1 and 2.

He's a projection but weight does not equal strength. He plays with way more power than his listed weight. Darius Leonard played last season at 218 lbs and he played just fine. You gotta find a home for playmakers like him.

Arizona is learning the hard way with Isaiah Simmons in a similar situation.

The TR take

JR stays put=too conservative, not aggressive enough

JR trades up=JR panicked he should've waited and let the fall board to him

JR trades down=he panicked and let too many good players go by. should've stayed pat

Exactly.

it funny how it’s so easy to peg this silly message board group think...yet those guilty of it remain blind.

Due to the trade down, JRob missed the opportunity to pick Amari Rodgers, Nico Collins, and Anthony Schwartz.

Those were three WR's who were universally ranked higher than the WR we ended up with in the early 4th round (Dez Fitzpatrick) and we also had to give up a 5th to move up and get him.  Now obviously they didn't love Dez Fitzpatrick because if they did, they would have either stayed put and drafted him at 85, or they would have drafted him in the third round at 92 or 100 after the trade down.

Rashad Weaver was the guy we ended up getting with the extra pick in the 4th round.

So basically the net result of the trade is we got a lower ranked WR and moved up from the 5th round to the late 4th to select Rashad Weaver.

You don’t think you could be missing pieces of the puzzle?

If they had their eyes on a free agent/trade WR, which it now seems possible if not likely, they may have never had any intentions of picking up a WR in the first 4 rounds.

when you have as many holes to fill as we did, it’s very likely they already made a decision on certain positions as far as getting them in FA/trade or focusing on the draft.

A development WR in the 5/6th may be all they wanted to accomplish in the draft for that position.

We’ll find out in the next couple months.

That doesn't make sense as when he traded down all 3 were on the board.   He could have stayed at 85 and taken any of the three.  Clearly he felt there was more value in moving down and getting the extra pick.

They drafted a WR in the early 4th round. Traded up to get him actually.

Hard to believe they never had any intentions of picking up a WR in the first 4 rounds when that actually happened and in a pretty aggressive way after there was a run on the position during day 2 of the draft.
