They should have sequestered the jurors in this case. The charges against Kim Potter were overkill for a terrible accident. They fired the city manager for saying she deserved due process. I haven’t read about that case. They definitely should have sequestered the jury.

LongTimeFan
In the end, if this trial is thrown out or appealed or whatever, I think manslaughter charges stick no matter what. The other 2 charges I think are 50/50 and are the ones most susceptible to being thrown out.

I think the guy is guilty, but there was bs intimidation going on with the jury. Hence why the judge said it would get appealed. It will get appealed and possibly overturned, whether you or me like it. Now tell me how I am wrong. It was always going to get appealed if there was any guilty verdict. It’s clear you have no clue how litigation works. ctm, and Oiler FANatic
ctm
Is there any evidence that any member of the jury actually heard what M. Waters said? And if they did, is there any evidence that it influenced their decision? Btowner, oldschool, and Starkiller

And if they did, is there any evidence that it influenced their decision? Exactly. The judge could have declared a mistrial if he truly felt like Waters influenced the jury. He was making a point about politicians commenting on ongoing trials more than anything else. The appeal is expected to be denied per most existing legal scholars. What a fucking idiot making this tweet knowing nothing about the incident. Just stirring the pot knowing nothing. Idiot. I didn't read the article to any extent, but I suspect what it is. This is the world we live in. There is enough distrust in the police to make instances like this a thing. The real issue here is why is there such a distrust in police? I mean death is one thing, but what about the 1000s if not more of stories of people getting pulled over for nothing......in order to search their car for the violation of traveling? I don't have a problem with you being a police proponent. I do have a problem when you ignore issues of people being pulled over for hopes of finding drugs, particularly marijuana coming out of Colorado. Are you for random searches of vehicles coming out of Colorado for the mere fact the MIGHT have weed?
reo
So apparently Republicans don't trust/believe in our election system and now they don't believe/trust our judicial system?

No1TitansFan
You have to prove a chance of the evidence producing a different result for an appeal based on things other than misconduct inside the court room.
