Fun fact: He was only House member to vote against a sex tracking law in 2017.

One is the loneliest number — and in this case, that loneliest number is Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fort Walton Beach.

On Dec. 19, Gaetz cast the lone "no" vote on a widely bipartisan human trafficking bill that passed unanimously through the U.S. Senate in September before sailing through the House by a count of 418 to 1.

The legislation — the Combating Human Trafficking in Commercial Vehicles Act — is an attempt to give the federal government more resources to combat the sex trade in the U.S., such as a human trafficking prevention coordinator at the U.S. Department of Transportation and a committee in the department to help develop best practices to fight human trafficking.

The bill was co-sponsored by both of Florida's U.S. Senators: Democrat Bill Nelson and Republican Marco Rubio.

Even if it was proven to be true.....do you honestly think his constituency will care?    Hell, they'll be giving the guy high-fives.

well we know the dems don’t care when it’s one of their own.   Like with that pervert Gerry Studds.

Come on....seriously?   You had to reach back FORTY YEARS to find a "yeah-but-whaddabout" comparison?

Stories like this always attract a lot of media attention...and the coverage/criticism (or lack thereof) is always shamelessly partisan.

The difference is, only one side proudly portrays itself as morally superior Christian folk, holding up bibles while espousing faith and strongly  conservative family values....yet also  blithely turning the other cheek when party leaders engage in activities that violate everything the party stands for.    (For example,  40-year old men getting caught with their hands in high school girls' cookie jars.)

I seem to recall several forum members being very vocally supportive of Roy Moore hanging out at high schools and banging 14-year olds;  I imagine a guy like Gaetz banging a 17-year old barely registers a blip on their moral radars.
