This is honestly the dumbest shit conservatives are up in arms over. The left did not do shit to Dr. Seuss. The publishing company made this decision. Mr. Potato Head became Potato head because of Hasboro. Disney created these warnings for their movies, not Democrats. Guess what? Corporations have realized that they don't want racism associated with their brands. Should corporations not make decisions like this? Conservatives sure love to do things like dump Coke down the toliet because of a diversity training or toss Cheerios away because they featured an ad with gay dads. I guess it's not cancel culture when conservatives do it, right? Cancel culture is bullshit and is only coming from the left. Biden is the reason Dr Seuss was not being included in Read Across American Day, not the publishing company. And btw, abortion is heinous, and the shameful left only cares about easy, cheap, plentiful butchering of innocent babies. wiscotitansfan, reo, StephenIsLegend, and 3 others

As far as I can tell, Biden simply didn't say the name "Dr. Seuss" in a speech. What a monster. The NEA made this decision. After a contract expired. Because they wanted National Reading Day to be more diverse. This isn't that hard to process. Dr. Seuss is one of the most successful brands on the planet, these incidents are hardly going to impact that. reo, and IsntLifeFunny

Number9
2 hours ago, Bink said: Abortion is a big pressure point for me, and one of the most disingenuously framed issues in this country by lawmakers. It is a big issue for conservatives who don't understand it, don't understand the real impact of the draconian laws Republicans propose. The history of abortion even being a political issue is relatively new and was a strategic political move, not a religious one. Abortion is a public health issue. You don't need to burn your Bible to know this. Most conservatives view abortion through the lens of "killing little babies" and that loose, evil, liberal women are using abortion as contraceptive. This culture is one of the reasons why women don't talk about their miscarriages. A reason why a woman might put her own life at risk to carry to term what is essentially a child dead on arrival. It's a reason why the parental rights of a rapist are value over a woman's access to basic healthcare. In Tennessee, you have to imagine a woman who is told that her child is developing in the womb missing chambers of its heart. It is being kept alive by your body, and as soon as it is born it will die in hours, days at most. That woman is saddled with shame, stigma, and doubt over what SHOULD be a straightforward medical decision. And with Republican's reckless lawmaking she has to endure a pretty traumatic experience just to be able to move forward. Leave the state. Be maligned by protestors at arrival. Sleep in a hotel instead of surrounded by family and friends. Follow up, greeted by those same protestors. Return home to a culture where you can't even talk about the experience you've gone through. Your overly religious family and friends have no empathy or understanding about what you, like so many women, have experienced. Now you are looked down upon because you lost a child. Fuck the shameful conservatives that perpetuate this, and the ignorant conservative lawmakers who remain willfully ignorant as they find one piece of moral high ground they can stand on without actually having to change any of their behavior. A next door neighbor of mine carried a baby to term. She had been informed the child was dead months before it was removed. And so many people in this country are so ideologically brainwashed and ignorant that there is little hope of progress. Meanwhile, women and their families needlessly suffer and live with trauma with little support. Add this to the well documented nature of Republicans to not give a single fuck regarding the well being of people once they aren't fetuses... There is a part of me that can understand the laws, but when I think of who passed them and how they have dilapidated the social safety net for these women I see it as an atrocity. Help these women (people) to bring up the next generation of our populace. They need full rights to healthcare including mental health. The fact is only one party thinks it’s okay to tell a woman she doesn’t have a right to her body. No one truly believes abortion is a good thing, but the fact is the story you shared shows exactly your point about the stigmatize and shame. It’s fucked. Men running a system telling women what to do with their own bodies is the definition of insanity, and doubly so when mixed in with religion. Republicanism has become commoditized Christianity...and they don’t even know it. oldschool, and Number9

I assume you believe the fetus is only a separate person once it exits the birth canal. Others believe the fetus is a seperate being at a certain point, maybe 10 weeks, maybe earlier, maybe later. Once you believe that fetus is a seperate person then it is murder to 'abort' the fetus.

If the fetus is truly a separate person it will all work out fine. Whatever happens to the removed fetus is god’s will...
