Where did he take credit for the bill? He, along with other GOP members, supported a few points in the bill. But the OVERALL bill was shit.

The point you are missing is even if the bill did not have non-COVID related items in it, Republicans were not going to support it. The point you are missing is Republicans will not support any major bill that is proposed by Democrats.

 

So, be a damn idiot and tell us how Republicans are trying to craft useful legislation. Sitting on their asses, jockeying to get their sound bites on Fox News, starting culture wars and reading Dr. Seuss is not legislating.

Abortion is a big pressure point for me, and one of the most disingenuously framed issues in this country by lawmakers.  It is a big issue for conservatives who don't understand it, don't understand the real impact of the draconian laws Republicans propose. 

 

The history of abortion even being a political issue is relatively new and was a strategic political move, not a religious one. 

 

Abortion is a public health issue. You don't need to burn your Bible to know this. Most conservatives view abortion through the lens of "killing little babies" and that loose, evil, liberal women are using abortion as contraceptive. 

 

This culture is one of the reasons why women don't talk about their miscarriages. A reason why a woman might put her own life at risk to carry to term what is essentially a child dead on arrival. 

 

It's a reason why the parental rights of a rapist are value over a woman's access to basic healthcare. 

 

In Tennessee, you have to imagine a woman who is told that her child is developing in the womb missing chambers of its heart. It is being kept alive by your body, and as soon as it is born it will die in hours, days at most. 

 

That woman is saddled with shame, stigma, and doubt over what SHOULD be a straightforward medical decision. And with Republican's reckless lawmaking she has to endure a pretty traumatic experience just to be able to move forward. 

 

Leave the state. Be maligned by protestors at arrival. Sleep in a hotel instead of surrounded by family and friends. Follow up, greeted by those same protestors. Return home to a culture where you can't even talk about the experience you've gone through. Your overly religious family and friends have no empathy or understanding about what you, like so many women, have experienced. Now you are looked down upon because you lost a child. 

 

Fuck the shameful conservatives that perpetuate this, and the ignorant conservative lawmakers who remain willfully ignorant as they find one piece of moral high ground they can stand on without actually having to change any of their behavior.

The point is they just added $1.9T to the debt for a lot of wasteful spending....something Democrats support only because they crafted the pork spending.

Disney created these warnings for their movies, not Democrats. 

 

Guess what? Corporations have realized that they don't want racism associated with their brands. 

 

Should corporations not make decisions like this?
