IsntLifeFunny
It's an interesting thought experiment to try and identify a single Republican who is earnest in his dealings or philosophy. Mitch McConnel is now rising up the ranks.

reo
Far Right’s Ties to Russia Sow Rising Alarm in Germany April 15, 2024 at 7:34 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 31 Comments New York Times: “To enter a secret session of Germany’s Parliament, lawmakers must lock their phones and leave them outside. Inside, they are not even allowed to take notes. Yet to many politicians, these precautions against espionage now feel like something of a farce.” “Because seated alongside them in those classified meetings are members of the Alternative for Germany, the far-right party known by its German abbreviation, AfD.” “In the past few months alone, a leading AfD politician was accused of taking money from pro-Kremlin strategists. One of the party’s parliamentary aides was exposed as having links to a Russian intelligence operative. And some of its state lawmakers flew to Moscow to observe Russia’s stage-managed elections.” https://politicalwire.com/2024/04/15/far-rights-ties-to-russia-sow-rising-alarm-in-germany/ To be clear, it's not just the American right wing that's funded by Russia. begooode
repubs just want to fight and to generate narratives -- culture wars, Dems, other repubs, it doesn't matter. If the kookoo caucus really follows through with ousting the speaker, they'll deserve every bit of grief that will come to them. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) announced Tuesday he will co-sponsor a resolution to oust Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) from the House’s top job. Massie told his colleagues during a closed-door conference meeting that he will co-sponsor the motion to vacate resolution filed late last month by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), according to three GOP lawmakers in the room, becoming the first lawmaker to publicly join Greene’s effort. ... The Kentucky Republican said he asked Johnson to resign from the Speakership during the closed-door conference meeting, which the Louisiana Republican declined to do. https://thehill.com/homenews/house/4596862-massie-backs-greene-effort-to-oust-speaker-johnson/ MadMax, and IsntLifeFunny

Starkiller
The Aitken Bible, along with nine other works, including George Washington's "Farewell Address" and Alex Haley's "Roots," became Tennessee's first officially-designated state books under legislation signed into law Tuesday by Gov. Bill Lee. Lawmakers last month passed House Bill 1828, sponsored by Sen. Paul Rose, Covington, and Rep. Gino Bulso, R-Brentwood, making the Aitken Bible — the first edition of the Bible printed in the United States during the Revolutionary War — an official state book, along with the nine works with varying degrees of connection to the Volunteer State. Legislation passed along party lines, with Democrats objecting with constitutional concerns. Separate legislation that would designate November as "Christian Heritage Month," and "encourage citizens to learn more about Christian heritage in this state" is on the governor's desk awaiting his signature. IsntLifeFunny
https://www.thefp.com/p/tucker-carlsons-turn?triedRedirect=true @El Guapo good article from a former Tucker Carlson lover. Without saying it directly he's talking about everything wrong with Republicans but aiming it at Tucker Carlson. Now, for me.personally, the guy is an idiot for liking Carlson in the first place. Still, I try to keep an open mind to where and what I read and found it overall a good article.
