How did America reach the sad state it's in today?

There's an excessive amount of anger in the country.  When Bill Clinton was in office, he was investigated for six/seven years.  They finally found something and as I remember people in both parties thought what he did was wrong.  He had a lot of followers, but I don't think they would have broke into the Capitol.  Nixon had to step down because of his misdeeds, but Republicans didn't run out there claiming it was all made up bs.  As far as I have seen in my lifetime and from history books, the people of America were for democracy.  We had elections and the winner took office.  The politicians fought over policies, but they didn't try to change the rules.  The people respected the laws and dignity of the country.

Now, during a pandemic two states have decided to hell with science and working with other states by wearing masks.  Several states went to the Supreme Court with petitions to toss out the results of the last election in other states they hand picked.  I could fill an entire page with total looney shit that's going on.  America has been for decades the most respected nation in the world.  We lived by freedoms ahead of the world and everyone wanted to be us.  We are losing that specialness.

So how did Harry Reid(D) change the rules? Which party wants to end the filibuster? Which party wants to pack the Supreme Court?

Why did the GOP hand pick those states to challenge the election results? State election rules were changed by someone other than the state legislature.  Would the election results be changed if the rules were not changed? Who knows?

Well, you guys hated Obama, a thoughtful, well spoken president.   Contrast that with Trump, a narcissist of the highest order, conman, perpetual liar, and attacked anyone that disagreed with him.

You guys elected the most unchristian president in our history. He’s literally the antithesis of everything Christ preached.

Individually you have to make the best of the system your in

Adapt or die

Dog eat Dog, Rat eat Rat.  Greed and consumerism.

We enjoyed a special prosperity in the 70's.  Everyone was working and making incomes they were satisfied receiving.  Was the system perfect, no.  Then companies started selling their businesses to foreigners/opportunistic investors.  These companies had more assets than they were worth to the owners.  The new owners would strip out the machinery and sell the land.  They made a lot of money and the workers scrambled for jobs.

Over the years, factory after factory closed.  Soon there were not enough unskilled laborer jobs.  Wall Street is still making the bucks.  They are telling the consumers of goods, be happy because we are importing goods that will cost less.  You can buy more.  So consumerism was satiated and could care less about all the millions of jobs that the country lost.

The cities adapted better because of numbers.  Ten-fifteen years ago we were talking about how Americans were moving into the service economy.  We have people in most cities working gig jobs now.  They will come pick up the doggie doo in your yard.  They will come wash your car.  They will do anything they can find a niche to do business in.  Adapt or die as @OILERMAN said.

But what if you live in Suck-egg Hollow, TN?  Or Dismal?  Nobody is going to pay you to come clean up doggie doo.  This isn't working so well for you.  You used to drive 40 miles into Nashville to roof houses.  The people with the money are now hiring immigrants to do roofing.  Talk about Walmart getting away with having government provide services for their workers-this is highway robbery of the American taxpayer.  These workers pay very little.

But we're are still operating on greed and consumerism.  If we can get ours, we don't give a shit about the people who can't.  We supposedly elect smart people to handle things like making our economy work.  The ones we elected in Tennessee don't even want us to make $15 per hour.  And it's not just the ones here in TN, it's all of them.  They took $15 out of the bill.

Economist explained this all to them years ago.  Now the game has gotten out of hand and people are climbing through the windows looking for the Republican Vice President.

It’s clearly the main stream Jew liberal media’s fault. All of this, meanwhile, is brunch orchestrated by the soros-clinton-Obama-Biden crime family.

Wake up sheeple.

You forgot a couple snowflakes, libtard and other just as ridiculously embarrassing buzzwords

It did not take long in 2017 for me to stop feeling sorry for small town America.  These problems are the result of nihilism and mismanagement.

People need to uplift themselves and their communities.  They need to find a better way of driving business then cheering the genocide of half the country.

If the F-150 crowd wants to continue with their criminal conspiracy, it's not a matter of if but when they see their chickens come home to roost.

Religion also has a large part in destroying the roots of society. Fuck the nonsense that America was founded on the religious beliefs blah blah blah. People are fucking morons if they believe religion is a reason that people are/were good people.

My grandma died from ALS and the last thing she told my mom (her daughter) on her death bed fighting for breath was along the lines of "I will never forgive you for marrying a Jewish man". Yeah, let's all just hop on a train that divides even the most nuclear of families like that compared to just being a decent human being out of human nature, not because some being in the sky commands people to.

Wars have been fought in the name of God the entire existence of humanity. Some idea that America was more wholesome when people were exponentially more religious is a crock of shit. Laws have been passed in the name of God to destroy the livelihood of many people who are different. How is that the America we want to be in? How is that the world we even want to be apart of, let alone America?

It truly is just a shame that people are too dumb and frail to move past the notion of god.

Everyone's idea of what's wrong is the other guy's ideas.  The politicians tell us their ideas are the best. Now we are ready to fight each other.  Just like Rafael Edward Cruz, they will fly to lavish resorts while we beat each others heads in.  When the coast is clear, they will come back and promise to do a better job.

Are these the people we really need to lead us?  And please don't tell me Donald Trump is an angel sent by God to save us.

The secularization of America is the root cause.

LOL No the fuck it isn't.

Rush Limbaugh, Levine, and their ilk are the main cause. They lowered the bar so much as to what is acceptable that we can't have any actual reasonable discussion any more.

You are a batshit crazy fundamentalist. Of course you think people getting smart to religious nonsense is causing it. Your religion keeps people ignorant.

I think it was about a year ago that you started a Dog Eat Dog thread similar to this one and I made a '70's Ted Nugent Dog Eat Dog reply, so, since it's almost the weekend... here it is again! :D  :467_guitar:
