Starkiller
https://www.forbes.com/sites/andystone/2021/01/08/with-democratic-senate-majority-biden-has-power-to-quickly-undo-trump-regulatory-rollbacks/?sh=e30e5aa2fad6 This week’s Democratic victories in Georgia’s Senate runoff elections provide incoming President Joe Biden with a powerful tool to undo several of President Trump’s rollbacks of environmental protections in the energy industry. A key question is whether Biden will choose to make use of the tool, called the Congressional Review Act, which gives a new president the power to eliminate, with the aid of a friendly Senate majority, any regulation promulgated by executive agencies during the final 60 legislative days of the outgoing Congress. Trump rules dating to August 21, 2020 or later could fall under the CRA. tgo, and Btowner
Titans279
Biden should try to go bipartisan and when Republicans refuse they should remove the filibuster. You guys wouldn't have to worry because policies passed by Manchin and Sinema would still be very moderate. Quote FIRST IN PLAYBOOK, via HOLLY OTTERBEIN: Pressure is building on the left for President-elect Joe Biden to use his clout to ditch the Senate filibuster. In a memo circulated by Justice Democrats, Sunrise Movement and New Deal Strategies, which was first obtained by POLITICO, the progressive groups argue that Democrats will pay the price in the midterms if they let Republicans “water down” Biden’s coronavirus relief plan. They even caution against budget reconciliation — something Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is all for — because it “relegates critical issues” such as civil rights to “second-class status.” What about people like Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), who is against axing the filibuster? “Biden has the credibility and the political capital to bring along the small number of wavering senators,” the organizations write. “Just do it — reform the filibuster and deliver results to the American people.” The memo Starkiller, oldschool, pamo9, and 1 other

Obstruct as much as they can. However, since the GOP is now in realization that a good chunk of their party would just as soon see them dead, let alone vote for them...they've got to navigate something they've never had to navigate before. Perhaps everyone gets back in line. Time will tell. One thing is for sure, if Trump gets some kind of media outlet going, they won't. Any concession will be viewed negatively by the commie hating, "wtf only $600" crowd. And that's just one of the disparities they have to figure out. That figures that the majority of the GOP still believes in democracy...which is questionable. McConnell isn't stupid, but he knows he's not in the game for much longer. It will be interesting how this plays out. Progressives, tell all your progressive buddies we are no longer in a culture war. We are in a war for democracy vs fascism. True conservatives are not fascists. Jesus H Christ, I don't agree with all of their principles, but at least they are principled. Don't alienate them. Don't alienate Democrats for not being as progressive as you would like. Fuck, at this point if I find a district that will most likely go Republican, I'll be voting for the moderate Republican as opposed to the Democratic challenger. Bottom line, this is no longer about Democrats vs Republicans. This is about democracy vs fascism.
