First off, there's almost no chance whatsoever the Texans would ever trade him to a division rival, let alone the Oilers/Titans organization.

BUT...if they would entertain the idea, what would you give up to get it done?

Even if you think Tannehill and Watson are dead even (or even just close) on talent/performance, Watson still has the advantage of being just 25 years old to Tannehill's 32.

It would take the Jags #1 pick in the draft for the Texans to even consider trading Watson inside the AFC South, what makes a possible auction for Watson interesting is the 3 teams best equipped to make a trade happen are all AFC teams and they currently hold the top 3 picks in the 2021 draft while each also holding a 2nd first round pick (Jags/Jets/Dolphins)

Don't be silly Tannehill is a top 10 QB, but he's on the back end of that.. The gap between him and Watson is substantial. Not even close to being on the same tier. Watson is elite, HOF level.

LOL, HOF level is stretching it.  He's good, better than Tannehill.

The more interesting hypothetical QB trade is : would you trade a 1st (and maybe more) + Tannehill for Russell Wilson who is also disgruntled.

Russell Wilson is going nowhere lol. He may not have liked the move from Schotty, but he's not about to ask out of the organization that he's loved so much over an average offensive coordinator.

Wilson's not disgruntled and honestly if he'd played better down the stretch, Seattle would not be in the OC market to begin with.....

Since you follow/pay attention them more than I do, would you say one of the biggest issues is that their ownership is not as good as it should be (after Paul Allen's death)?  It sort of reminds me of the time after Bud died and fat Tommy took over.

No not at all.  Paul Allen was largely in the shadows and the sister, Jody, has been the same.  They let the Team President run the business side and Carroll/Schneider run the football operations side.

The big issue at hand is that Pete Carroll wants a balanced attack grounded in a physical run game and an explosive/efficient pass game but also one that is flexible and adaptable.  The criticism of Shotty was that they did not adjust when teams started playing two deep to take away the explosive deep pass plays.  The intermediate and short passing game flopped late as they simply were too predictable.  The Rams knew exactly what Seattle was doing route wise.  In addition, Wilson was average down the stretch.

They are somewhat in a tough spot.  They have an elite QB who's going to be a HOFer but only have one SB ring and two appearances.  The bar of expectation is a SB win.  Anything less is seen as a failure because they win 10-12 games and make the playoffs every year.

The Titans can offer up their next 10 years first round picks and Houston still wouldn’t do it.  I don’t think there is anything the Titans could do to get Watson from the Texans.  The Texans would never trade their franchise QB to the Titans.  I think they’re the only organization that they’d never do that with.  It’s like when people were talking about Jalen Ramsey.  The Texans and Jaguars would never trade a substantial player to the Titans, whom are both teams biggest rival.  The Colts?  Maybe.
