Popular Post titanskick8851
2021 Titans Off-Season Primer Overview: Despite a roster that clearly had flaws and an early playoff exit along with the best offense we have seen since the Titans came to Nashville, 2020 was a successful year for the Titans (especially considering the flawed off-season/draft/free agency/coaching decisions). They crossed the double digit wins total and won the division for the first time in 12 years. That is a great win for the culture of the team. Every year a lot of the bottom part of rosters around the league change. This year will be unprecedented for the Titans though and will really test the Front Office and Coaching Staffs ability to keep the team winning. Big changes will be coming to the roster as only 34 players (52 players now with Futures signings) are under contract. The salary cap, sadly is not in our favor. After signing our futures deals, we are currently $8.8 Million OVER on the projected cap of $175M. Add in several veterans that could be released and you have some serious holes through the roster. That 48 players is among the lowest in the league and clearly points to several tough decisions coming up. It will be very important and interesting to see how Robinson and Vrabel build this roster. There is a good chance more than half the roster ends being reworked with key contributors and dependable vets potentially being released. This all to go around with three likely coordinator changes as well. The Titans of 2020 will not be anything like we see in 2021… Coaching Decisions Offensive Coordinator: Art Smith hired as Head Coach of the Atlanta Falcons (1/15/21) Coaching Hires (All reported 01/29/21) Promoted TE Coach Todd Downing to Offensive Coordinator Promoted OLB Coach Shane Bowen to Defensive Coordinator Promoted Offensive Assistant Coach Luke Steckel to TE Coach Promoted Assistant Special Teams Coach Ryan Crow to OLB Coach Promoted Defensive Assistant Coach Matt Edwards to Assistant Special Teams Coach Hired Vanderbilt LB Coach Kenechi Udeze as Assistant DL Coach. AvgJoe
Outstanding work @titanskick8851! Did not realize Ogunjobi, the DT in Cleveland, is a FA. He does a great job moving the Olinemen back. He has to be a target titanskick8851
AussieTitanFan08
Did get the impression from the Vrabel press conference that they would be open to bringing back Jonnu/Davis but the price has to be right. When looking forward to the 2021 roster there are a couple of pretty easy cuts in Humphries (if he can pass a physical) and Vaccaro (this team simply needs to get more athletic defensively) There is one guy who has a cap hit that makes it likely he gets cut in Butler (there is no doubt he is the best CB on the roster but I just don't see JRob having a 31y/o CB with a $14.2 million cap hit) Where the real questions start is guys like Kelly and Saffold who are aging and dealt with injuries most of the year, not sure this team can afford to enter next season with 3 over 30 OL (Saffold/Jones/Kelly) who were all banged up for large stretches of this season. luvyablue256, titanskick8851, and DCTitan

AvgJoe
Titans need to keep the Left side of the Oline intact and Jones IMO and all starters the same while getting a new RT ready. Personally, I think Sambrailo is capable of starting while a mid round pick gets time to develop. titanskick8851

Truly think they are going to have to make a tough decision with Saffold. Hopefully he is open to restructuring his deal, but they may in fact want to see what Brewer can do. titanskick8851
Future's Contracts updated. Interesting they kept McCann over Sloman. Bring the 2021 players under contract to 48. Edited January 11, 2021 by titanskick8851

Reaching to fill a need leads to trading up for Evans and the dumb decision to draft Wilson. DCTitan, AvgJoe, oldschool, and 2 others 4
BudsOilers
Very curious to see where the 2021 cap comes in at as where they think they'll be in terms of fans/revenue for the fall. Every team is affected but 1/3 of the league has minimal cap space or are over it and there's no question IMO that owners will not being throwing crazy money around until things are normal economically. I’d also be fine with a WR if we don’t re-sign Davis. Perfectly fine taking an OLineman after Round 1, ideally in Round 3 or
BudsOilers
I'd also add that this will be a very challenging year for draft evaluations. CFB was a cluster fuck in terms of who played and who didn't. luvyablue256, AussieTitanFan08, and titanskick8851
