Was Twitter or Facebook ever shutdown and deplatformed? You are a fucking tool if you think this is not problematic. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Why do you think they felt the need to create Parler at all? Your answer is right fucking there in front of you. IsntLifeFunny, Starkiller, reo, and 1 other

Starkiller
https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2021/01/filing-amazon-warned-parler-for-months-about-more-than-100-violent-threats/ But far from getting cut off suddenly, Parler had months of warning, Amazon says. Amazon's filing included copies of emails it sent to Parler in mid-November containing screenshots full of racist invective about Democrats, including former First Lady Michelle Obama, with a series of responses from other users to "kill 'em all." Amazon provided "more than 100 additional representative pieces of content" advocating violence on Parler over the following seven weeks, the company said. Another document in the filing lays out dozens of examples of posts Amazon reported to Parler, beginning in mid-December. Those posts call for, among other things: killing a specific transgender person; actively wishing for a race war and the murder of Black and Jewish people; and killing several activists and politicians such as Stacey Abrams, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), and former President Barack Obama. Representatives from AWS spoke with Parler executive leadership on both January 8 and 9 about the platform's "content moderation policies, processes, and tools," Amazon said. In response, Parler allegedly offered steps that would rely on "volunteer" moderation, and Parler CEO John Matze allegedly told AWS that "Parler had a backlog of 26,000 reports of content that violated its community standards and remained on its service." OzTitan
It's disappointing AWS gave them this much of a leash frankly. Had they been kicked off sooner maybe it would have avoided the size of the attack. So many people are incredibly lucky it didn't result in multiple executions and murders. They were probably afraid of right wing political criticism, much like how Facebook had caved to them for years. But between the insurrection and the Dems winning control of the Senate less than 24 hours earlier I think that gave Amazon the excuse it needed to do the right thing. Attacking social media for having a liberal bias is the same strategy the right has used on the so called “liberal media” for decades. As long as they keep it up, they can paint the truth as liberal bias. And mainstream news gets painted as the bad guys for reporting true things that are bad for Republicans. What do these people think it would be like if Trump had won the election? What was done to the Jewish People? So now as they round up the people who smashed their way into the Capitol of the United States people are supposed to see this as genocide? Companies have independently decide to take away their support of websites who disseminate untruths. The Federal Government has escalated their plan to eliminate retards. The Democrats are trying to create a master race of intelligent people who can see through BS and don't accept conspiracy theories as facts without doing due diligence. A country of openminded people who accept all God's children as equal under the law and hold the outlandish belief that all people should be treated fairly.

Maybe in name only, but not in practice. They banned a bunch of liberals apparently on their “free speech” platform but my understanding is that there wasn’t much anyone on the far right could do to get banned. Certainly death threats, calls for violence, and racism were all allowed openly. I'm not concerned about the porn aspect, at least as long as it wasn’t illegal. That wouldn’t get them taken down.
