kyle021
I would ask Pitt about trading a comp 3 or comp 4 for Diontae Johnson. The dude has serious speed and agility and big time play making ability. Yes he has the drop issues but his rookie year and start to his NFL career remind me a lot of DeVantae Adams whom the Packers almost traded due to drop issues. Think about it. he is 6’3 215lb and can run block like no other. He rarely drops passes and can play the X and the Z. He is a big dude. My friend who watched him the first time when he was a rookie knew nothing about him and said “That dudes a WR?! He looks like a tight end” with us in a spot to lose Davis, and Smith… Makes me want to say that we should resign Cory Davis and let Smith watch, and then shift Davis over to tight end sooooo I would love to know what your guises thoughts are on that? I think if you could add a solid 15 pounds and come into the season at 6’3 and 230-235 and by end of the season he could be sitting around 6’3 and 240 pounds. We could grab a WR in the 2nd and 3rd rounds since we will have two third rounders. Davis would never move to TE but I think he could and I think he would be very successful at it. Man Oh man, this is big dumb thought of the week material Rage4Order, rns90, CaliTitan3518, and 2 others

CaliTitan3518
Losing Corey Davis this offseason will be a massive blow to our offense. There isn’t anyone on roster who has a chance to step into his role. luvyablue256

We just had a crazy good offensive season, on the back of a great second half last year when RT took over following the benching of the Pineapple Chunker. The offseason plan is fairly simple. Keep the offense together and go all out to make the defense better. DCTitan, and oldschool

Rage4Order
To me, the saddest part of this season was the way we squandered Jonnu Smith’s great playmaking ability to use him primarily as a blocker. He is a tremendous run after catch guy, but we used him to block. With teams selling out on the run, we could have dragged him across the middle all year for big gains. I would keep him over Davis, but only if we’re going to throw to him 70+ times a season. DCTitan

If he was some legit receiving threat they wouldn’t have wasted him with the OL help. He’s just isn’t a match up nightmare like most of the top TEs in the league. He’s got ok hands and is an ok route runner. He’s not the biggest TE. LBs and safeties can hang with him in coverage. He’s really only good if we get him the ball in space. oldschool
luvyablue256
Today was a preview of 2021 with no Davis. Which is why I advocated for doing the following: Trade Lewan for 2 picks..early & mid rounder. Use one of our early picks to replace him at LT Use freed up cash to re-sign Davis. Use extra pick for defense LongTimeFan

I don’t think he sucks, but college football produces WRs like Antonio Cromartie reproduces babies. You can replace that production. And replace it for 1/3 of Davis’ price point. The biggest argument against Jonnu is Firkser. Fine, maybe Jonnu was a casualty of the OL problems. But this argument doesn't hold up against Firkser who took the Humphreys role. On 3rd down passing situations, we bring in an athletically inferior TE as the safety valve. Jonnu either lacks route running, catch consistency, or something else. Whatever it is, it's keeping him from being moved around the way we did with Delanie Walker.
