I agree. At this point playoffs are a moot point. Win the division and hang that banner. We arent getting a SB banner this year so might as well get the division one

Pretty much, but do we have a chance to win a playoff game or two.

Last year, at the end of the regular season, the Titans ranked 31st in red zone defense, allowing 68% TD's.  They subsequently improved to 33% against NE and 25% versus Baltimore, whom at the time was deemed the significant SB favorite.

They just need to get into the dance.  Yeah, is it unlikely they can win 4 in a row?  Sure.  Still, they have 3rd highest scoring offense in football and can beat anyone.  Now they can lose to anyone just the same but you can essentially say that about every team that will make the playoffs.

Yeah, they don't need to drastically improve on defense.  They just need to be better.

And for those in the thread who like to crap on it, just don't watch.  Really, better off without "fans" like you.

I don't think the Titans have won the AFCS since 2008.

It'd be nice to have a home playoff game for once.

I was actually at the game that year they won to clinch the division. It was vs the Browns in week 10 or 11.

Yeah but they’re front 4 was insane

Yep, it's not just the fact history shows strange things can happen in regards to supposed weaker teams going all the way, it's down to how they did it. If the Titans are going to turn it around, the defense will have to become unrecognizable all of a sudden. The offense has pretty much maxed out already and games like the Browns and Packers were still liable to occur. If the Titans were 10-5 with good D but suspect QB play I'd say it is more possible since just one position improving could achieve it, but in the 2020 Titans case they need a whole side of the ball to do this.

Crazy to think that if we had an even middle of the pack defense we could have definitely made a deep run. We may never duplicate the offense we had this year. And that is with a patchwork O line. Amazing

The Titans absolutely struck out on their defensive decisions and we were left with an almost historically bad defense that cost us games we should have won and most importantly, the game which we controlled our fate to punch an early playoff ticket and not have the entire season on the line. That is where we are.

At this point we take what we can get. Winning the Division is a huge accomplishment that has eluded us for over a decade and we should be grateful.

That being said we are likely one and done if we do make the playoffs, and it will be hard to say we took a step forward this year even though we have a better regular season record and much improved offense. Winning the division is nice, but we are in a Superbowl now window, and it may be short lived..

Titans can win a game or two in the playoffs if their offense is on fire.   But to expect them to be able to win a shootout every game is unrealistic.

This is why they have to start putting Evans outside. It is possible it is a twofold addition. It could strengthen the pass rush and at the same time Compton while limited is at least competent and will be in the right place. He’s leaving massive gaps over the middle in our zone and now he’s leaking in the run game.

This isn’t to say it’s some cure all, but as I’ve kept repeating it’s worth a shot. We literally can’t get any worse.
