Popular Post AussieTitanFan08
JRob/Vrabel are going to have to admit defeat with Rashaan Evans being an NFL ILB he simply doesn't have the instincts to properly fill run holes is also an absolute abomination in coverage and for the trifecta gives away too many dumb back breaking penalties. Whoever ends up coordinating this defense next season can't be saddled with an ILB that is an absolute liability, Evans either needs to be shifted to be a rotational pass rusher or traded for a can of coke and half a ham sandwich to a team who might think they can fix him. Popular Post kyle021
False Evans is a stud, but yes he is having a down year. The whole defense is. Landry having a down year. Byard looks like JAG. Clowney, Jones, Vaccaro, etc all have regressed. I prefer Hooker over Vaccaro at this point, however it don’t matter what we do until we fix the scheme on the defense. I have absolutely no doubt that if Pees comes back Clowney will be back and Pees will use him like he is supposed to be and players like Evans and Brown will go back to their dominant ways, as well as Byard and Jackson and Simmons will be better off under Pees as well. Give Pees the same defense he had last year with Clowney over Correa and King over Ryan and Hooker over Vaccaro and Fulton taking that next step we will be just fine. this draft is going to be defensive heavy. I can see them having a DL, OLB, CB, WR in the first 3 rounds and in round 4 I can see them getting another DL oldschool, Eighteen, titanthakur, and 4 others 3 3

rns90
Does 49er fan even watch Rashaan Evans? He's awful. There's far too much evidence of this. I'd just flat out release him but that's just me. Would JR admit a mistake ala Dodd and Beasley? I sure hope so. titanskick8851, and ChesterCopperpot1 1
titanruss
Long is our best LB. We should retain Brown for the pass LB and keep long for the MLB. Evans should be moved to OLB and we go heavy on Edge and rushers in FA/Draft. We can grab a mid round ILB with some versatility skewed towards the pass to back up and Evans can fill in at ILB in a pinch
titanskick8851
Evans has to be one of the make frustrating players to watch. All the athletic ability but no instincts at all and does not have very high IQ with regards to recognizing and diagnosing plays. Would love to move on from him, but don’t know how realistic that is. They assuredly will decline his upcoming 5th year option meaning 2021 would be the last year of his deal anyway. If they do look to trade him the Darron Lee and Reggie Ragland trades are the one that probably bear the most in common. In the 2019 off-season, the Jets traded ILB Darron Lee (formerly 20th overall pick in the 2016 draft) to the Chiefs for a 2020 6th Round Pick. In the 2017 off-season, the Bulls traded ILB Reggie Ragland (41st overall in the 201t draft) to the Chiefs for 2019 4th Round Pick. So you most likely are looking at a 5th or 6th round pick for Evans if we were to trade him. And with Brown likely gone I don’t know how willing they’ll be to create two holes. Although Evans presence alone creates a huge issue. It will definitely be interesting to see what they do. Hopefully they wisen up. KB31
Titan_Aussie
The only good part of his game is on the goalline. Thats not sustainable as an ILB. Theres zero chance we pick up his option and I wouldnt be surprised if hes gone at the end of his contract. Hes been a massive disappointment this season. luvyablue256
I can't be too critical on Evans. Or hardly anyone else on D for that matter. They have ZERO leadership from their coaching staff. Players aren't responsible for coordination titanruss, and Number9

Yoshimitsu
Last year we had a master calling our plays and coaching up the defense. It's so evident by how far everyone has fallen in one season that he was an absolute genius at covering weaknesses. Eighteen

Don't pretend this is something new. The only difference this year is that he's making less wow plays (aside from the goal line) to balance out the terrible ones. Maybe a different DC/scheme helps but he's been shockingly bad this season. oldschool, Justafan, and titanskick8851

He's a downfield attacking ILB and should be used as such. That being said he's been horrible all year both mentally and physically. No way should his 5th year option be picked up. titanskick8851, AvgJoe, Downtown, and 3 others
