Then they make a great move in signing the holder who’s most familiar with Gostkowski. He goes out, has a great game punting and holding...and then they bench him?! Freaking unbelievable. Jonboy
I’ve been hard on Tannehill the last 2 weeks but he was great tonight. AJ had 2 awful drops. The only really bad play I recall from Tannehill is when he missed Jonnu. Outside the 1st drive, Arthur was pretty bad, imo. All the shuffling on the OL isn’t helping either. rns90, DCTitan, Doogie, and 1 other

Again Tannehill has missed some throws the past 3 weeks and the playmakers have dropped their share of balls as well. The offense looks to be pressing to me. Who can blame them with how terrible the defense is? Tannehill has been off and no one really wants to address it head on. Instead we all find little things to pick at but the reality is he's not taking care of business like before. We all anointed him as elite and as I've heard a million times on this board, an elite QB covers up most flaws and carries you. He's not doing that and instead is a part of the problem right now. I'm not giving him a pass. Tonight it wasn't the scheme or the OC, it's was the QB and to a lesser extent the weapons. Special teams was horrendous too but the offense was the reason they were on the field so often in the first place. oldschool, JT2000, and pamo9 1

Tannehill can only be successful behind a great offensive line and a good running game. Tannehill fits what the Titans want to do and can be a very efficient and successful QB. He just has to be a cog in the machine, not responsible for making the machine go.
prometheus
Mythos, I can agree with your assessment of Tannehill, but disagree with you on the blame which should be directed to HC, OC, OL coach,, LB coach,, secondary coach, special teams coach ...., hell, all of them. Unless Vrabel is overriding these coaches, then they too should hang their heads. pro Edited November 13, 2020 by prometheus

Popular Post Jonboy
@Mythos27 Gotta disagree on Tannehill tonight (and I’ve been hard on him the last 2 weeks). After going back and looking at the drives, he was probably even better than I thought. 1st drive- Tannehill is 4 for 4 and it ends in a TD; glorious play calling and execution 2nd drive- Henry loses yards on 1st. Tannehill gets back 8 on the next play. False start Sambrailo. Then on 3rd and long he delivers a dime, would be TD to AJ who drops it. 3rd drive- Tanny converts a 3rd and 2 to keep the drive alive. Drive ends in a FG and Tanny only has 1 incompletion the whole drive. 4th drive- 2 incompletions on the whole drive for Tanny. Great throw to Davis on this drive for 18. Also helped by penalties and some great Henry runs. Drive ends in a TD. So he had 4 drives in the first half for what should have been 24 points. 3rd quarter... 5th drive- FOUR straight runs and then on 3rd and 1 they try the PA fake but the Colts don’t bite and he’s sacked. Punt. Keep in mind this is AFTER the huge 4th and goal stop when we still have the lead and should be going for the jugular here. 6th drive- Titans are now trailing. Tannehill misses Jonnu here on 1st down in what was his biggest miss of the night. We do the obvious run in 2nd down for nothing and then the 3rd and long pass to Firkser is broken up. That punt is the blocked TD. Now we’re down 10. 7th drive- Lot of Henry here. Tannehill also hits Smith and Batson on this drive. Henry gets 11 on 2nd and 10 but it’s called back with a hold. Then on 2nd and 18, Brown has his 2nd drop of the game. Nothing there on 3rd and long. Then Gostkowski misses the FG to bring us within one score. Defense then let’s them score in 4 plays and it’s 34-17 with the game basically over. Titanstattoo25, tgo, DCTitan, and 4 others

Stan
Big stop on 4th and goal and you try to get cute instead of running the ball
Jonboy
1 minute ago, IsntLifeFunny said: The naked bootleg on 3rd and 1 was awful. The kicker just shanked a punt. You run the ball every time right there. Run shotgun and run the ball. If you’re going to pass don’t run a naked bootleg. That’s one of the worst situational calls I’ve seen in a while. The book is definitely out on our love for the PA rollouts. How many times the last few weeks has Tannehill immediately had to dodge pressure, throw immediately or take a sack coming out of the fake?
