There is no disguise. You come out, line up 10-12 yards off the receiver, and stay there until the ball is snapped.  What happened to press bail, line up on the receiver, jam him at the line, and get back to your zone. Why not show press and move to zone after Ben changes the play. Disguise some coverages! I know we have back ups out there at CB for the most part, but they know how to disguise coverage. They are in the NFL for God's sake!

They are protecting their CBs other than Butler. They have to play zone.

You can play zone and protect your CBs without lining up 5 yards behind the first down sticks.

Oh yeah. How? If you play up you open the field and put pressure on the Safeties. In 4 and 5 wide that also opens the middle of the field. The Titans CBs outside of Butler are terrible, inexperienced, or over the hill. What you are advocating for leads to explosive downfield plays. They actually rolled the dice some in the 2nd half and did what you are asking. The Titans simply don't have the pass rush or the secondary personnel to do it more than a few times a game as a wrinkle.

So they are choosing death by a thousand cuts. Either way, you die. I would rather go down swinging. At least our offense would have a chance to get on the field. The steelers held the ball all game long by throwing 5 yard outs with our CBs lined up 12 yards off the receivers.

What is really scary defensively is we are #1 in the NFL in the turnover differential and #2 for INT, can you imagine how much worse things would be defensively without the turnovers.

Have seen a lot of discussion on the Titans defense today from around the NFL media and I agree with many who have said they can't continue to rely on getting turnovers.

Saints rode a similar defense to the Super Bowl. It can and has been done.

The idea is to force teams to execute for 8 to 10 plays and stiffen in the redzone. Its the Pees defense to a tee.

Problem is this year the redzone defense is as bad as the 3rd down defense.

It was last year too.  They were 31st in the regular season in 2019.  They stepped up in the first two playoff games before getting killed vs KC.

No it didn't but what choice do you have when you have a massive talent gap at CB and your pass rush sucks?
