Week 7: Steelers @ Titans Game Thread

Recommended Posts

Guys, Stephen Gostkowski literally won them a game earlier in the season.  It's not like this was a chip shot.  Yes, he should have made it.  But he didn't.  And it doesn't help that one of their defenders was off-sides which likely made him rush it.

It was a huge play. Getting the yardage back doesn't work like that when you lose yards and a down. If they had gotten the first down or a TD I would have forgiven it.

You lose the down on the sack. PLUS potentially even more time than the 10 second run off.

They royally screwed up trying to force the ball to Henry on that last drive. That's when we needed a pass catching RB.

Had nothing to do with the fact that it's Henry. The Steelers were all over that screen and Nate Davis got beat at the point of attack. We put McNichols in and didn't throw to him once...

In it until the end.  Yeah, it sucks.. but tthey put themselves in a huge hole against a top AFC team in the first half.  You just can't do that.

However, I'm DEFINITELY okay with the narrative they will sell of the Titans being the under dogs now.

Make no mistake - the Titans are one of the top teams.

On the intentional grounding it looks like a receiver would break towards the sideline, but the ball came out quicker than the receiver broke that way.

Tough one to lose, defense has got to get better the third down conversion rate against is just unacceptable.

Scine be honest; when he lines up for an important kick how do you feel? I sure as fuck don't feel confident.

Tannehill taking the brunt of the criticisms, but are we forgetting how our defense went face down/ass up for their offense for the entire first half?  It really looked like they had given up.  Tannehill didn't have a great game, but this was a team loss.  Arthur Smith had a good run the last few weeks, but this game highlights some of his worst aspects as a OC.

Moving forward, I hope they ditch the zones and off coverages.  It's a disappointing loss no doubt.  But I was encouraged by the defense in the 2nd half.  And they really gave the offense several chances to win it.
