To 40% of football fans: you really like wild hair and caked-on orange makeup that much?

Actually I put no blame on the one person.  In my opinion, his supporters are 100% of the problem - always have been - always will be. He is only a mirror imagine of them.

This whole discussion belongs on another forum.  Having said that - language like you are using is the reason why we can't get anything done as a country. Extremists on both sides use it and because of a lack of respect and willingness to work on what we can agree on we don't progress on anything significant.

I completely agree except this is not normal political differences.  President Trump is in no way normal - he is an imbecile and lunatic who only makes a decision to help himself and that assumes he can even understand an issue.   This is not normal, two-sided arguments at this point.

For contrast the community that was organized by Mr. Obama is totally peaceful, educated and prosperous. America is turning into a banana republic and while I don't like the GOP, it's the Democrats who are responsible for the total destruction in civil society. The proof is in all the people fleeing California, New York, Illinois and New Jersey.

Name one place the Left has ruled exclusively for 30+ years that isn't a total shithole.

You aren't agreeing with yourself. You post a blast at Trump, then you say the problem is with his supporters, now it's back to Trump.

I'll agree with you on one thing. Trump supporters were around before Trump and they will be around after he is gone.  Maybe focusing on people and not the "anti-Christ" is a better approach?

No party has 30+ years of exclusive leadership over a city. This is a weak straw-man. However, it just so happens that the most prosperous cities currently in the US are all progressive.

Show me the shiny example of this conservative/Republican led city that is the top and most desirable right now?  Anyone fleeing any of the top cities (California, NY, Jersey, Chicago, Seattle) are all cashing out and moving to a smaller (also progressive) city - Austin/Nashville/Portland/Denver

The party of tolerance ladies and gentlemen...

Being tolerant doesn't mean tolerating intolerance. Otherwise you would be promoting intolerance wider than your intolerance of intolerance!

It's not a straw-man at all. Many of the decaying urban areas in the US are dominated exclusively by the Democratic party and if that city happens to be in a state with Democratic legislative domination then you know they're in dire straits. If the leftist ideal was so successful then people wouldn't be fleeing leftist areas in droves. It's really that simple.

You also can't judge prosperity by salaries without incorporating cost of living. That is the definition of a strawman argument which is what you presented. I have an aunt in San Francisco who happens to be extremely 'progressive' and she happens to make 120,000 USD per year. Sounds great but 120,000 USD doesn't get you far in San Francisco. When adjusted for cost of living utopian California is the most impoverished state in America. That's quite the accomplishment for a state that has the best weather, the best harbors, the best farmland, and is the center of tech, entertainment and trade with the Pacific Rim. One has to be a real moron to fuck up California but the Left has managed to do it. I live in Phoenix and there are people at my job who have told me they  are much better off here making 2/3rds of what they made in California.

Nashville is far from 'progressive' when you factor in the entire metropolitan area and obviously Tennessee is a conservative hotbed. Nobody is moving to Nashville for 'progressive' politics.
