Vitamin D is a proxy for why C19 affects those with darker skin.  Darker skin = need more solar exposure to raise innate and adaptive immune systems to defend from all viral illnesses.  FYI.

You pulled this bullshit years ago when trying to explain why Marshon Lattimore would always struggle with hamstring injuries.  He hasn't had any hamstring issues in his 3 years since entering the league. Sure, darker skinned people need to be in the sun longer to produce as much vitamin D, that still has little to do with Covid or injuries. Stop filling the board up with pseudoscience you quack.

Whoever complained about the Titans not getting enough media attention...this is all YOUR fault!

Pees definitely made the right decision to retire.

Really?  You need to read more.

A new article has just been published in the Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology looking to see if an oral vitamin D supplement can be used to treat c-19. What were the results of this study? Among the 26 participants who did not receive vitamin D, 13 were admitted to the ICU (50%), and two died (8%). Of the 50 participants who did receive vitamin D, only one individual (2%) was admitted to the ICU, and no-one died.

On the face of it, these results are pretty damn impressive! Vitamin D supplementation resulted in a 48% absolute reduction in risk of ICU admission, and a 100% relative reduction in risk of dying! If that isn’t an effective therapy for C-19, then I don’t know what is. So tell me, why doesn't the NFL testing protocol use Vitamin D assessments to check for T cell immunity? Any guesses? Here is the published article from the PEER reviewed journal. https://www.sciencedirect.com/.../pii/S0960076020302764

1) your link doesn’t work

2) only a quack would use a study with that design and sample size to push a vitamin as a magic bullet

It’s not racist African Americans and Latinos have dark skin which most of them their vitamin d levels are lower. That’s pretty known. I’m pretty pale and idk if I’m getting enough vitamin D because of skin cancer concerns.

It isn't racist but that also doesn't mean that all black people are walking around deficient in vitamin D. We play in Tennessee and the south gets plenty of sun. He's just mixing in generally accepted concepts to pump up his BS opinions.

Well so far they are the only team that's had an outbreak.....It's a fair criticism if it comes out that someone in the organization broke protocols.

Come on, you don’t think elsewhere in the league players and coaches are breaking protocol? The league and teams have tabs on players/personnel for only certain parts of the day/week.

Making a scapegoat out of the first is futile. It’s only a matter of time before this becomes more frequent as we get deeper in the year. The league and teams need to be smarter. No reason teams can’t setup bubbles on their facilities and keep players/personnel on campus.

LOL at some of the PFT reader comments about the 0-3 Vikings....

"This is the fourth time the Vikings have been shut down this season."

"So the Vikings have had no positive results through 3 weeks of the season."

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/09/29/vikings-say-theyve-had-no-positive-tests/

Bongo, you're a complete idiot. No one listens to or respects your opinions for good reason. Stop flooding the board with your bullshit.

The answer to why people of color are dying at a higher rate is linked to their biology via their mitochondrial haplotype and Fitzpatrick skin type = Vit D proxy. Any medical student knows it but not an ideologue on a football forum.

Dark skin was built for the tropics and its low latitude, not a high latitude, therefore it should be NO SURPRISE TO ANYONE WHO CAN THINK, that having dark skin at a high altitude would lower innate immunity and increase viral risk. It is not racism its basic biology.  https://dnalc.cshl.edu/view/15144-Ski

This is why coronavirus was killing black and Latino New Yorkers at twice the rate of whites.  https://nyti.ms/37mSbgj
