With College Football officially back with the start of the SEC schedule, I thought it would be interesting to get some conversations going.

Looking at this potential draft class of QBs there are some really interesting developmental guys. Obviously there is the top guys, but overall there could be some really good depth in this class.

Today, specifically Trask and Costello looked great. Ehlinger also had a pretty good game leading an epic comeback. King also cruised against FSU.

Top QBs

Trevor Lawrence - Clemson

Justin Fields - Ohio State

Trey Lance - North Dakota State

Kyle Trask - Florida

Sam Ehlinger - Texas

K.J. Costello - Mississippi State

D’Eriq King - Miami

Alex Bowman - Texas Tech

Jamie Newman - Wake Forest/Georgia (Out-out)

Tanner Morgan - Minnesota
Desmond Ritter - Cincinnati

Brock Purdy - Iowa State

Kellen Mond - Texas A&M

Anyone else you all looking to keep an eye?

I really liked Kyle Trask last year, and think he has a good chance to succeed in the NFL.  Had a really good game last weekend, wouldn't draft him in the first but might be a riser by seasons end.

I wanted Costello to come out this past year. He would have made a lot of sense as a mid round guy to be backup and possibly develop into a starter. He was considered a 1st round pick until injuries at Stanford.

We will see how he does against the SEC gauntlet. If he plays well, he is likely in the discussion for being a top QB in the class.

Pretty crazy to see the hype and performances by BYU QB Zach Wilson. I don’t know if he will declare easy, but if he keeps it up he could be the second QB off the board.

Need to pump the brakes on Wilson a little bit he is benefitting from the fact Fields/Lance haven't been playing so far this season and the media is looking for another QB to pump up behind Lawrence.

Oh no doubt but I feel like will only help him as we get later into the year. He’s a legit Heisman candidate right now numbers wise but obviously the biggest knock is strength of competition. Lance was going to face more of those questions and after what Lance showed in his one showcase game I do wonder if he is better coming back for another year or transferring to be big time program.

He probably would still go in the 1st round if he comes out but if Wilson continues at his pace and comes out there will be push for him to be in the top 3.

Any other QBs you have all have watched that impressed?

I’ve watched a few of SMU’s games and Shane Buechele has been really impressive as well and would be a mid round guy to keep an eye on as a developmental QB.
