  1. 1. Is AJ Green overrated??

Living in Ohio, been seeing alot of Bengals & Brown's games over the years. I always felt for years AJ Green and Dez Bryant were extremely overrated. Between the fumbles and ineffectiveness, I'm not sure why he is considered an upper echelon receiver.

I think before the injuries he was elite. He's living off the hype not what he's done lately.

His game just isn't big time imo. And he has always fumbled at the worse times. He just never shows up in the big games. He has a decade worth of pretty good stats. He does well on the 1pm majority of the games are being played games. But everytime it's been primetime or playoffs he seems to flop.

Yeah injuries took their toll. The question is, why did they keep paying him? His first few years, he was phenomenal -- but take that with a grain of salt.

He averages 9 targets per game. That's fucking insane. He's still averaging 90 targets per year despite not playing much since 2017. Add into that the fact that his trash teams have almost always been behind chucking it up for him to catch.

So yeah...little bit overrated. Hard to say how his career would have gone with a better org and less reps. I'd say probably a lot better, but he wouldn't be doing it with 9 targets per game.

He appears to be past his prime which sucks considering that Julio is still a beast and they came into the league together. To my eye he was do downright bad last night.

this. He just doesn’t have the explosiveness anymore to create separation

AJ Green was elite.

He doesn't look terrible now but him and Burrow are clearly not on the same page. 13 Targets last night so they are trying to get him the ball. He's 30+ and coming off an injury and no one thinks he is elite. He has to prove he can be elite again which is going to be tough to do.

AJ Green has never created a bunch of separation. He is a tall outside WR that wins the 50/50 ball.

Or atleast won the 50/50 ball when he was in his prime.

He used to be the best post route runner in the NFL. He never was excellent with separation on the 9 route; he would just out jump smaller CBs. But those post routes were absolute pearls because he would consistently bait the CB to take outside leverage.

All WRs not named Calvin Johnson or Randy Moss are overrated w/o decent QB play to go w/ them.

All WRs named _anyone_ are "overrated" w/o decent QB play. Even Jerry Rice. It doesn't matter how sticky their hands are, how fast they are, how crisp their routes are, or how elusive they are. If the QB can't get them the ball all that talent is spinning wheels.

Moss made some QBs in Minnesota look pretty baller back in the day and same w/ Calvin Johnson but not as consistently.

Rice was very QB dependent.

Dante Culpepper and Jeff George, i'm looking at you. Brad Cassel as well.
