Popular Post BudsOilers
Understated in the game is that the Titans offense had 81 plays to 59 for Denver. No doubt that helped protect the defense from getting worn out in the altitude during the 2nd half. The Titans left too many points on the field but the long drives helped a lot in terms of game flow. IowaOiler, chef, Omar, and 12 others
Starkiller
We were lucky to win. Both teams made mistakes that could have swung the game. Both teams had significant injuries. But a win is a win. Number9
earlers
Damn, Clowney played a lot too. He mentioned his conditioning after the game. Bluth, and Ricky
freakingeek
The sustained drives were a critical factor in that win and bodes well going forward, especially in the first game of the season with no OTAs and delayed training camp. Personally I think Gostkowski will be fine. One kick was blocked, one was a low snap and one he pulled. He needs practice reps with Kern and Brinkley which he didn't have. It wasn't a pretty win but there are several positives to take away from it. The game winning drive was clutch. Nobody panicked. Time to go back to work and get a home win against a divisional opponent.
Bongo59
The best part of the game was Henry getting fed and warming him up. Denver's D did all they could to stop him and he still got 120 yards. If TN OL plays this bad against Pittsburgh Henry will have Barkley's stats. Pitts is the one D that is built to stop Henry. The best teams every year have several games like this that they win. In the NFL every team is "good," even the Jets. Given the circumstances, it was a very good win. There is plenty of room for improvement to go around, but in the end, the plays that needed to happen and the kick that needed to happen were executed nicely. The OL opened some holes for DH on the final drive and RT hit receivers for first downs in crunch time. Along with games like this, the Titans are also gonna curb stomp a few teams this year as well. Each season is a process and learning to win games like this as a whole team is part of that process. Not a bad start for a squad that's looking to still be around in late January. Aramis
Solid win, but cringe viewing experience. Though to be expected given we had no pre-season. Will probably be bumpy for the first four games. I honestly could not help but laugh at the kicking situation....was beyond comical. The fact the guy dropped from what 2nd most efficient kicker all time to 8th was insane.
