Clearly Buck Reising was lying the other day when he said there had been zero contact all offseason....The Nashville Titans coverage is pathetic.

People are jumping to too many conclusions. Just wait and see how this plays out. It's crazy times

If he does ever show up, at least he’ll have racked up enough mandatory fines to negate a good chunk of the signing bonus cash we already paid him.

I just don't see the logic in what Beasley is doing unless he's cleared whatever issue he has with JR.  If he was going to opt out, it would have been easier to do it earlier and not deal with the hassle of the fines and the signing bonus issue that may come.

Exact Vrabel quote:

"He's not here. Everybody else is. He's under contract and we expect him to be here. I have not reached out or had much conversation with him," Vrabel said during his Wednesday news conference. "We still look forward to getting him here and coaching him when he gets here. We want to coach him and want him to be a part of the football team."

Doesn't sound very supportive to me.

"We've probably met with him a lot more one-on-one than in a group setting even, just because all the other guys have been here," Bowen said last week. "We're kind of trying to kind of add and expand from 100-level learning to 200-level learning, so to speak. So, in terms of being able to expand their horizons a little bit, where Vic [Beasley] would start out at ground zero in terms of our defense."

Players have until Thursday to exercise their option to opt out of the season because of the pandemic. Beasley hasn't given any indication that he will do so but is losing precious time to get acclimated to his new teammates and coaching staff. Once Beasley does report, he'll need to get three negative tests in a four-day window before he can enter the building.

Is there a time frame a free agent signing needs to report with his new team before the team has the right to void the contract?

With Beasley seemingly not caring about throwing money away in fines I don't know there is any real deadline to force some action from Beasley's side.

No, he loses a lot next year. He is still collecting the vast majority of his contract this year regardless through bonuses. But next year he would only make a little over $1M.

If he opts out this season, that's taking a year off regardless of the timing of his guarantees.  You don't get paid for taking a year off.  If he does opt out, he will make a lot less this year and next year as compared to if he plays both seasons.  He's a dipshit.

Well, today is the day. If he’s opting out, he must notify the team by 4pm ET.

With reports suggesting that his fines will stand regardless of whether he opts out or not it certainly lessens the likelihood of him opting out.

Entering day 10 of the holdout Beasley has effectively lit fire to almost $1.4 million and also voided his remaining guarantees not much about this situation makes sense.

The only thing that remotely makes sense is that he is going to hold out until it costs nothing for them to release him. Then he signs with someone else. How long would that take, and who would sign him after that stunt? It really is weird!

None of this makes any sense.  What's really going to be interesting is when he doesn't opt out, he gets cut, and gets sued.
