Newton looked completely done last year

Before the shoulder injury in 2018 he was passing better than he ever had played, including the MVP season.

Can he regain it? No idea

Another great thing about the deal is they can care less about his shoulder. They can run him to the ground for 1 year.

He looked like he was hesitant to run though last year. It was like McNair towards the end of his career. Or a RB who declined dramatically. Unless Cam can get healthy and make a huge turnaround, I don't really see it. I would've preferred Dalton.

Him passing better than he ever did still isn’t saying much. Guy has always been incredibly inaccurate.

Under Norv Turner he was actually passing it very well, it was really kind of shocking

He had a stretch of games where in 8 of 10 of the games he had a 100+ passer rating and 22 TDs and 6 INTs, then he hurt his shoulder and has been terrible ever since, he obviously couldn't throw a ball
