If Edelman doesn’t drop an easy 3rd down pass on NE last drive it could have turned out differently.

I agree. Vrabel went way to conservative once he got the lead in that game. If Brady could throw more than 20 yards in that weather I think we probably lose it right at the end. We won because we could easily sell out to stop the dink and dunk passes.

I'd argue without Henry the offense is opened up in that game.. I had real issues with the game plan as it played right into BBs hands. It worked out in the end but I fear Vrabel's conservative nature on offense will bite the team at the worst possible time.

How so? New England had the best secondary in the league last season. The gameplan wasn't the only reason we didn't throw the ball more; even when we did try to throw the ball we didn't exactly light them up. Having Tannehill throw 30-35 times into the teeth of that secondary wasn't going to produce a win that night. Vrabel played it very well and had enough trust in our defense to stay the course. I get that it's a passing league and all but sometimes the run game can still be the difference in the game.

Not paying Henry on a long term extension doesn't mean the team would go back to have RBs who cannot play in the NFL.

Also Henry is on the roster for 2020

It would've been far more likely to sign a free agent bust or draft a dud than it would've been to find an adequate replacement. Replacing good players isn't as easy as people think. We just finally drafted the best RB since CJ and the best receiver since Mason. I get that Henry isn't irreplaceable and that RB is more replaceable than most other positions but swinging and missing is far more likely than hitting a double let alone a HR.
