you do get in the majority of the western world that people feel safe around cops right? In America we have to be vigilante around the people who are meant to protect us. How does that not seem wrong to you?

 

I am not black but I can tell you now I have gone threw a trafic stop in my head where I tell them I am going for my wallet to get my license because I do not feel like getting fucking shot.

Good luck with that. Maybe we should just become the communist country that Republicans associate with socialist programs and everyone is middle class or better and no1 has a reason to steal and all the crazy people and strait up assholes say ok, I am cool with 47k a year and do not want all the shit I can have selling drugs or running guns and robing people.

 

Ya I am sure that will happen.  And it will fix everything. No more hunger or homelessness. No crime. No more hearing your thoughts on politics. All we need to do is wave a magic fucking wand after a round table with blavk people where they go o shit I did not understand most of us being poor was why we are being targeted.

Is it based on personal experience, or because The culture of fear that the media tries to put us in?  I'm personal thankful when I see the police around.  They park in high crime areas so people can safely go into grocery stores, use gas stations, etc.  They park along the highway in order to deter the random shootings which occur, discourage reckless driving, etc.  I guess it all depends on your perspective.

Isn't it sad that people needed to be brutally killed to "move the needle"? Doesn't that tell you something about how little people cared until even more people lost their lives? Black people protesting and saying "hey we're being abused" isn't enough, people need multiple examples of video evidence to be moved.

It is what I have seen with my own eyes. Ever watch a cop pull his gun on a 9 year old boy (happens to be white in this case) because he wouldn't tell him where his parents were? How about a woman leaving a dollar store and her little girl stole a doll and when she tried to return it when she noticed before leaving and the manager said it was ok they took the mother away in cuffs any way.

That's EXACTLY what I've been saying.  Focusing on the cause of crime, improving conditions which will in turn reduce crime, should be the goal.  No matter what changes are made, tragedies will occur at the hands of police.  It's the element of human error.  Robocop time.

American enslavement if the Chinese does not predate this country's founding. Post evidence of this or back off. That said, of course many Chinese were exploited and abused in America and yes that was wrong. The fact that they at least seem to have chosen a different way to deal with their oppression has 0 bearing on how other marginalized groups choose to deal with it.  I really wasn't serious about that. As I said before, people are born into a life of crime, some police abuse the power of their positions, and it's a tragic thing. I do object to the protesters trying to get in the face of the cops, disobeying curfew (which was set to protect businesses from looting and damage to property and human life), throwing objects at policemen, and acting like their rights are being violated when they retaliate.  The police are there to keep things under control and protect them, not to be their punching bags.  So I don't really feel sorry for anyone who faces the wrath of a cop in that situation.

I'd like to believe it's only a small minority but the Trump era has exposed that these "small" minorities of bigots and racists aren't nearly as small as I thought. Let's keep it real, Brees hasn't reevaluated a damn thing. His first statement is how he really feels. He apologized because he didn't want to deal with the bad PR. There are a lot people who say all the right things but deep down they don't mean that shit. I disagree with Brees and thought he was an idiot to say what he said but appreciate that he was honest because now I know who he is. I thought he was better than that.
