Ahead of Trump Bible photo op, police forcibly expel priest from St. John's church near White House

Religion News: “The photo opportunity had an eerie quality: Trump said relatively little, positioned stoically in front of the boarded-up church, which had been damaged the day before in a fire during protests sparked by the death of George Floyd.”

“The church appeared to be completely abandoned. It was, in fact, abandoned, but not by choice: less than an hour before Trump’s arrival, armored police used tear gas to clear hundreds of peaceful demonstrators from Lafayette Square park, which is across the street from the church.”

“Authorities also expelled at least one Episcopal priest and a seminarian from the church’s patio.”

The White House released a video last night glorifying Trump’s photo op.

Spin it however you like.     The fact is, Trump had the police force remove peaceful protesters and clergy using whatever means necessary just so he could get a photo op holding up a book he's never

Stupid fucking bootlicker. You will make any and every excuse for that racist piece of shit coward.

'in a fire during protests' is WRONG AND MISLEADING.

You ignorant people conflate the protest with rioters and completely lose any credibility.

Did they expel or just ask them to leave for security reasons? Do you not see how you spread division? You blame Trump but people like you are spreading division at every turn and cant see past your nose. Truly sad.

They used tear gas and rubber bullets.

They also did it 30mins before curfew which means they might've dispersed soon anyway since it was a peaceful protest.

These protesters were asked to move 3 times. Any president has the absolute right to have them moved just like when they block off streets for a presidential motorcade.

If they wont moved when asked, you move them.

They won't even acknowledge that it happened.  A boomer in-law commented on a 20-something in-law's post about this about how only god can question Trump's beliefs.  Then she begged for people to stop posting divisive stuff.  She's a kind lady, but obviously a delusional Republican that won't consider any other ideas that aren't given as the party line.
