About the only thing you listed not found in the rural areas is sewer. And the answer for that you listed.

So again. What do urban areas provide that rural areas can not?

Opportunity.

The country is a great place to take your money.  But it's full of gentleman farmers.  Making money in the first place is quite a bit tougher.

Gerrymandering is a bigger problem than the electoral college.  IMO

GOP: Lets force voters to stand for hours in long voting lines and risk their lives in the middle of a deadly plague, and they’ll gladly vote for our guy to show their gratitude.

I'd like to see all Congressional Representatives awarded proportionally in statewide races.

That just stacks things in the other direction.  Independent boards with requirements making congruent counties the high priority.

Yes, Gerrymandering and voter suppression are the real issues. What they just did in WI. was totally laughable

I’d add campaign financing, too.

The gop in WI has been transparent in maintaining power despite they’re trending in the minority. Add in the fact that the 2018 outgoing legislature enacted several power limiting actions for the new Dem governor in a hurriedly called special session for the lame duck governor to sign. A move that was upheld by their high court (stacked by repubs). Yes the same high court that forced the election last week.

The "independent boards" are why gerrymandering exists, who ever controls them controls the election.

Get rid of the boards with proportional voting.

Well this is true to an extent but NC has to redistrict.  If proper rules are put in place most issues can be avoided.

It's a bit of No true Scotsman

@WVTITAN: No independent electoral board will create gerrymandered districts.

@patsplat: Electoral boards are easily compromised and have in fact resulted in outrageous gerrymandering

@WVTITAN: No truely independent electoral board will create gerrymandered districts!

While I share the sentiment, appealing to purity is not the foundation of successful politics.
