The Never-ending Saga of Jadeveon Clowney

Guys like Clowney, Henry, etc. need to quit being fools and take the money now.  The value of stocks have significantly declined.  If this continues, other assets will follow. Commercial real estate will likely be next. In this environment, cash is king because it will buy more.

10M, 12M, etc. is still life changing money if managed properly.  Take the money now and live for another day.  And that doesn't even count the fact that the season could get cancelled and with no contract they would get ZERO.  Easy decision, mitigate the risk.

In fact, the best thing that could happen to Henry is that he get 10M, then doesn't have to play for it and put another year of wear and tear on his body.  Then next spring he's a free agent or gets tagged again with a 20% increase.

These guys know that careers can end quickly. They want to maximize their contracts now. It’s their last chance at a huge contract.

Yea but then you see some of these guys considering one year deals which is foolish.

As for Clowney……  if Jrob really thought he had a shot and really wanted him then why sink $10 mil or more into Beasley?  Signing Beasley makes signing Clowney that much more difficult not to mention we are looking at having close to $30 mil for two guys and one may not be on the field all the time.

Might make more sense to forget Clowney now and use the money to get Henry his deal and maybe sign a vet CB or something.  I wouldn't let a few mil stop us from finishing Henry's deal.

The guys wanting one year deals if the market is not to their liking is tied to the new CBA.  Everyone is projecting a massive bump in the salary cap next year one the new TV deals are struck, which undoubtedly will effect the market - cap cost %.  A guy like Clowney, who 16 M last year can take that gamble.  A guy like Henry, off a rookie deal, is probayneter off signing the tender now.

I hope we get him. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a superstar on the defense. Guys like Clowney can get you an extra win or two and are huge in the playoffs.

Oh fuck the Colts. Their reign is at an end.

I thought so too, but they really just needed someone at QB that can manage a game and throw when needed. Brissett was average af. Rivers has torched us his entire career.

Buckner vs our line? Oh yeah that's gonna be fun. Imagine putting Clowney in that mix. Colts have a good team. Texans seem to be imploding. Jags have 12 picks lol.

Just when I thought we were a lock for the division, here come these fucking Colts.

People don't realize how done Rivers is. His arm is crap now

I think Rivers has more in the tank than Brady. Colts will be good this season. People laughing at them are fools.
