We really arguing over whether Robinson is Good or Great? Essentially. It’s ludicrous but fan boys, whether it’s for the GM or the QB, are laughably dumb....... God forbid I had valid criticism over a decision that the GM made that nearly sabotaged the season.......Easier to deflect By fabricating things. But it doesn't apply to this Mariota situation. If Lombardi had an axe to grind he'd be ripping Robinson for keeping Mariota in the line up so long, instead he said he agreed with it. You can't exactly say he's reporting it was Robinson because he doesn't like him if he's in agreement with the move. And @japan your favorite thing to do is attack the messenger, When you were defending Mariota at every turn every time someone like Cosell, Orlovsky or any other reasonable analyst was critical of Mariota you attacked them. You also do it any time it's negative about Robinson. Robinson is a very good GM imo, he screwed up the QB situation last year. It worked out and he got away with it. We got a franchise QB now. All is right Lombardi agreed with Robinson because he'd look like a Monday Morning QB and a dick otherwise. It doesn't give credibility to anything that he said. IsntLifeFunny
This isn’t complicated. Robinson was watching his back by doing what he did. Amy loved Mariota. If he benches him to start the season and Tannehill doesn’t come out blazing then he’s looking down the barrel. He no longer gets the benefit of getting a fresh lease with a new QB and is probably told playoffs or pink slips. It doesn’t mean it was necessarily the right move from a football standpoint, but in terms of continuity and him wanting a shot at his own QB and to see the process through I understand. Bud will you please stop clogging up the boards with the exact same shit every single day. Grow some tougher skin and don’t respond every single time. You’ve repeated your position probably over 1000 times now. We got it.

Huh? Unless he historically fucks up and plays an entire season of Mariota, you'd still see how well Tannehill played. Mariota was bad enough the past 2 years where it was never a question of if he will be pulled. In any realistic scenario, there is no way you don't get to see a good portion of Tannehill even if we wouldn't have made playoffs. IrishTitansFan
I highly doubt it was solely Jon Robinsons decision to start Mariota. JRob was never tied to him, has shown time and time again he doesn't make emotional decisions, and would always look like a genius if Tanny turned out. I believe them when they say it was an organisational decision, and was based on the feeling of the locker room and Tannehills terrible play in 2018. I don't think it was necessarily a mistake at the time to start Mariota, the mistake was not pulling him during the Jags game japan, big2033, and IsntLifeFunny
