TerryBoats
Either Henry or Conklin. He's a higher priority, IMO. Jonnu didn't get a lot of looks last year, but he was one of the league's most effective players when he did. His 80% catch rate was right at the top of the league, and his actual YAC vs expected YAC was #2 in the league- behind only AJ Brown. He is trending up in all of the right ways. He's only going into year 4, but the going rate for TEs is still very cheap. Kittle is very likely going to reset the market for TEs, rightfully so. Robinson and the coaches like him too much to let him go, so we need to lock him up before that happens.

His entire post makes sense except for the first sentence. But that's the rub since that's the entite premise of what he's saying. Of course extending Smith before Henry is absurdly absurd... therefore, thread fail. Jonnu does need extending though, unless JRob comes across a better option in FA or the draft either this off-season or next. He didn't see the ball a ton, but he made the most of it when he did. socaltitan
Smith is not a bigger priority than Henry. He definitely needs to be a top priority after next season. He really was starting to look like the true successor to Delanie this season.

ChemEngr79
I have no issues with extending Jonnu this offseason. He is ascending and we could potentially lock him up for an extra 2-3 years at $4-5M/yr. If he breaks out next year, it could be huge savings vs the market rate. However, he can wait until after the draft for sure...
charleytolar
He said "will" not "should" which I think only alludes to the competitive and financial magnitude of signing those two over Jonnu Smith.
Starkiller
They should absolutely look into extending Jonnu this offseason. But obviously that’s not a priority heading into free agency and the draft.
