Henry: “Why Not Tannehill?”

Recommended Posts

Derrick Henry’s take:

Quote

“He [Brady] still can play,” Henry said. “Obviously, age doesn’t matter for him, he’s still playing at a high level, but my question would be: Why ain’t Ryan good enough, you know? . . . speaking for everyone on the offense, we fed off of him . . . Ryan Tannehill is our quarterback and went to the AFC Championship, why would we not want Ryan back?”

Because some feel Tannehill will suck next year and we have a better chance at finding a good QB high in the first round.

Feelings, you know?

Considering our draft position, not likely barring a trade up. Then you also immediately enter a rebuilding phase with a rookie QB. This team is built to win NOW. It's highly unlikely RT will suck, even IF he can't replicate the amazing season he had this year. Of course his contract demands are impacted by what his agent thinks he can get on the open market.

This might be the peak of stupidity for anyone to think we can do better drafting a QB at 29 rather than keeping Tannehill.

Sure, some QB taken late 1st or later could blossom but the odds are simply not with it.  Like betting on a crippled horse to beat a sound one.

The only reason Tannehill wouldn't be back is if Brady became our QB.

That's unlikely to happen, so it's safe to assume Tannehill will be our QB for the next couple of seasons at least.

I'm sure they're working out contract details and we'll see a press release soon confirming he's been resigned.

I think that the Titans and Tanny both know they are good for each other and they aren't trying to F that up.

Both sides will still try to leverage to their benefits as their fiduciary responsibilities require, but I don't think this is acrimonious or even very difficult.

Tanny is getting a shit-ton of cash and we are going to be reasonably happy to pay it.

Now Henry, Ryan, Conklin? That is trickier...

The comment section under that is kinda retarded.

Yeah, the quote from the guy who apparently thinks everyone in Nashville is walking around in cowboy boots and therefore wouldn’t appeal to Tom Brady was pretty dumb, but then, he is a Patriots fan...

That one was definitely a highlight for the retardedness.

The real question is why anyone would give up on the guy who got you to the AFCC to go after a 43 year old QB who showed clear signs of regression last season?  Brady might not be quite done yet, but he's not exactly Brady anymore either.
