Virginia now has a bunch of libtards in charge, and they can't stop themselves from passing horrible laws.

The House past a law where all VA electoral votes go to the national popular vote winner.   Who do those jackasses think they are telling Virginians that their vote doesn't matter, only California and New York.   This will not pass the Supreme Court, for any sensible person could see this is not constitutional.

The House just passed a broadly defined ban on "assault rifles", which by Democrat Delegate Mark Levine's definition essentially bans most guns from being purchased in our Commonwealth. Worse, they want to make millions of Virginians criminals if they don't turn in magazines with capacities over 12 rounds by next January. This is theft of property by our government. It doesn't make anyone safer.  Another overreach and unconstitutional.

Add in the racist, sexual assault leaders at the top, the Virginia Democrats are going to get their asses handed to them next election.

Oh boo hoo hoo.  I wish more states would follow.  Fuck the outdated EC.  The only people whining about it are the people who can't run a candidate who could actually win the popular vote.  My vote should count.  It never does.

Sounds like the Virginia legislature is working hard to align themselves with their broader constituency to provide a higher level of safety to the citizens of Virginia.  Well done!

Thoughts and prayers to those who think we cannot take reasonable measures on gun issues.  Personally, I've had my fill of rando lethal violence and feeling powerless that we lack the political courage to even try new measures aimed at safety -- esp for those most vulnerable.

Also, your comment does not look to be true: The House just passed a broadly defined ban on "assault rifles", which by Democrat Delegate Mark Levine's definition essentially bans most guns from being purchased in our Commonwealth.

A bill regulating assault weapons has passed the House of Delegates with a vote of 51-48.

HB 961 prohibits the sale of certain semi-automatic firearms, including popular AR-15 style rifles, and ban the possession of magazines that hold more than 12 rounds.

"And just like that, Virginia House Democrats vote to make millions of Virginians surrender their property or become criminals," said Del. Dave Larock. "If the Senate goes along with this nonsense, the Governor will sign it, and then AG Herring will spend YOUR [money] to defend this unconstitutional overreach."

,... The bill prohibits the sale, transporting, transferring, or manufacturing of an assault firearm and it would be illegal to import, sell, transfer, manufacture or purchase a silencer or trigger activator after January 1, 2021.

Current owners of assault weapons would be grandfathered in and therefore able to keep their firearms. In the bill an 'assault firearm' is defined as "a semi-automatic center-fire rifle that expels single or multiple projectiles by action of an explosion of a combustible material with a fixed magazine capacity in excess of 12 rounds."

Proud to have been able to vote for Ralph Northam before I moved from VA. Glad they're passing much needed reforms as promised in the Old Dominion.

Terry McAuliffe is one of my favorite politicians

It may be blue, but not so much that a highly motivated right can't turnout and rid the state of this nonsense.

Best part is that Earl lives in a highly educated diverse county by the name of Fairfax. It probably tears him up to simply go outside.

Well there are too many excellent ethnic restaurants to stay inside.
