gaskill15
Mariota was even indecisive in the one play they allowed him to run. I about puked when he double clutched thinking he was gonna fumble. Eighteen, Smokes, OILERMAN, and 1 other 3

Popular Post big2033
I don't know why some can't accept that the staff WANTED to let Mariota sink or swim until the last possible second before making the switch. It's been happening in the NFL for decades. I think Vrabel was a part of Mariota starting as much as everyone. And because he played it the way he did he was going to get credit even if we didn't make the playoffs. Seems like only a few in this forum wanted Vrabel's head for not making the switch earlier, the rest of the NFL gave him credit for making the switch midseason. We stuck by a lame kicker to the bitter end. You don't think the plan was to stanby Mariota until the last possible second? To most people outside of this forum, in the NFL and most of all most mainstream Titans fans, he looks like a genius that had to move away from "poor Marcus" because he couldn't tap his "potential." The dumbass narrative was that Mariota was untapped because of coordinators and the other dumb excuses and he needed "time." Mariota has that Tebow aura over people and it had to be buried before we could finally let go. Edited January 5, 2020 by big2033 Eighteen

In fairness, the Titans don’t get much national coverage and so frankly most of the country doesn’t care. The whole situation was completely avoidable and self imposed. No one outside of the Titans fan base would give a damn if the decision would’ve resulted in them missing the playoffs This idea that folks didn’t realize Mariota sucked, however, is not true. The Titans, despite a very good roster we’re not picked by anybody to be a playoff team because of poor quarterback play. The same with the Vegas lines. rns90, and Number9

I’d guess it took about 2 practices and 1 QB meeting to see Tannehill was superior to MM in every way. They are headed to Balt now and Likely got away with it when all is said and done so whatever. But to start MM then need to see him with Lewan for two games after we knew he sucked Is as retarded as it gets, whoever’s decision it was Number9

The perception was still that QB play had potential to get better. You were done with Mariota, the narrative was still that he was solvable. And the Titans fanbase matters to ownership. If you move away from the "franchise" QB it better be something that brings you to at least 9-7 or it's a waste of money and time. Mythos27

Even Eli got a couple of games ... twice. The perception from this shitty fanbase was that Mariota was a QB that led us to three 9-7 seasons and throw a TD to himself in the playoffs. Practice isn't enough. You know that. It needed to happen in game, in season. Stratigically I'd call Vrabel a moron for risking his job in moving from Mariota before the season started. He had nothing to lose going with Mariota early. He only would lose you guys sticking with him. Popular Post kgsTitan
I think Vrabel is throwing him a bone, but to me it's even more demeaning. Its like the Oilers used to have that fat guy, Mojo, run out and pick up the kicking tee after we kicked off. When Mojo died, they replaced him with a monkey riding a dog.
