Texans Week: Titans 4.5 point favorites (update -8.0)

Again, you guys believing O’Brien are a bunch of fools. No way he’s playing him or Hopkins. He’s clearly playing mind games with the Titans.

I don't believe anything O'brien says. However, if he played his starters before in similar situations what makes you so sure he won't play them now? Especially non-injured starters.

Texans injury report here, still a lot of guys limited.

Betting Line has settled at Titans -3.5 for the last couple of days.

Don't like the looks of that comment Deshaun Watson felt great 'no idea' if he's playing. I could very well see these guys going for broke to try and knock us out of the postseason by playing certain starters. Our defense is already swiss cheese right now all it would take is our offense having an off day and the scary thing is since Tannehill first started the offense hasn't had a bad game. I really do hope Vrabel has a good sound game plan and is ready for whatever the Texans bring. Ironically the last favored team to lose a game in the last week of the season with the postseason at stake was Mike Mularkey whose Bills lost to the Steelers in 2004.

Vegas usually knows what’s going down.

You literally could not be more wrong here

Foles was at QB with playoff experience, Blount was at RB a year removed from winning the Super Bowl. Super Bowl Champion Torrey Smith started at receiver. Ertz had played in the playoffs, as had Kelce and Lane Johnson.

On defense, Chris Long had just won the Super Bowl. Ellerbe won a SB in Baltimore. Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox both had playoff experience. Malcolm Jenkins won a Super Bowl in NO. That's just off the top of my head, there's probably more.

There were very, very few core players who didn't play in the playoffs and many of them were Super Bowl champions.

Ok.  I've been licking my wounds and waiting to return to the scene of the crime, and what I've got is this.

Look at super bowl winners, and it's the same story over and over again.  Patriots.  Steelers.  Packers.  Even the Giants and Broncos have won plenty.  Then there's teams like the Saints, Bucs, or Colts -- making the playoffs year after year before putting it together for one lucky year.

There's no point in being a Titans fan if that's your model.  We're not one of those teams.   Go 49ers or some s***.

The team we need to emulate are the teams that came out of nowhere.  As distasteful as it is to say it, the only recent examples I could find were the 2000 Baltimore Ravens.  And maybe the 2001 Patriots.  The teams that, while the Titans were steadily "building" year after year, went out and won a ring.

So play to win.  Trample the weak, hurdle the dead.  Good to great.  Or something like that.

I'm not gonna care about next year until the season is over.
