The article ended with this gem      Ouch

JRob takes out the pad and makes a note to himself: draft a Kamara/Chubb in next draft preferably in the 3rd round.

My stance on this has changed, Conklin is clearly the better player than the servicable Kelly. Kelly can hold his own with chipping and TE/RB help, but he cannot function on an island against top rushers when need-be the way Conklin can.

Good take -- it's a zero sum game. We're so close to being playoff contender -- can't keep throwing draft picks at the same issue and neglect other areas. If Conklin came back worse than average (for RT), I think Robinson would move on, but I still think we need to invest in interior linemen (DT and OG/C), another TE, and (gasp) a QB in the early rounds.

They “shut” McCafrey down twice but the first time he was chip blocking all game because Cam couldn’t get rid of the ball. The second time they played McCafrey wrecked them in the first half and they committed the whole defense to stop him while getting torched by the rest of Carolinas team

Was just giving you two back that popped into my head that are top backs. They may be a mirage.

Wasn’t trying to come off rudely. I didn’t see their Saints game. But I think they just sell out to stop the run, which any team could probably do if they devote enough guys to it.

The Kelly hate is overblown. He got trashed by Bosa 1-on-1. No, he's not good enough to consistently block Bosa without help.

Newsflash guys...neither is Conklin. He would have gotten his ass whipped too.

This is what I was going to post, it's more than possible Conklin would have been beaten by Bosa too. But Kelly is def not a good pass protector

Thats by record. We may get lucky without mahommes playing, that could help.

Most of the elite Defenses are out of the way for us. So we just have to up the offense a bit and let our D keep playing strong. Theres a shot.

Starting to sound like he might actually make it back by the time we play the Chiefs.

I want to see our D against that O with him playing.

Certainly his mobility will be limited a bit no?
