Tannehill Named Titans Starter

Too bad so many thought Mariota had the year and that the only way Tannehill would play is if MM got injured.....

To be fair, I don't think many thought he'd regress this much.  I was willing to give him another chance, "healthy" and with new weapons.  I wasn't optimistic he'd make the turn, but I figured give him one more chance.

I had no idea he'd stink it up this bad.

When the GM comes out immediately and says the new guy is here to push Mariota and they also are refusing to discuss an extension, it was obvious the leash was not super long.

The problem, however, is that it was malpractice IMO to jeopardize the season when it was very obvious in TC/preseason that the offense was better under Tannehill.  Now the margin of error for the season is nil.

I personally, can't wait to see the excuses for Tannehill if we lose.

We will judge the whole team like we always have. Its just that Mariota has been the biggest contributor to the poor offensive play.

I forgot how much of an "L" this is after all our offseason arguments.

You guys really couldn't see it?

There was so much evidence too.  In between JR saying that Tannehil was here to push Mariota as the starter, the awful red zone training camp stuff, the crappy preseason performances.  It was obvious he'd have a short leash, although it turned out to be longer than I thought.

It'd be shocking if we do anything of note with Tannehill ... happy?

You can't win.

It's also predictable that the MM fan boys will be rooting for utter failure from Tannehill and the coaching staff as their boy has been wronged.  The irony is that many of the realists were accused of being haters and rooting against Mariota when it simply was obvious for multiple seasons that he was a bottom tier starter.

The view of Mariota in this whole era has been fascinating.  Never in my time watching football have I seen a guy that clearly wasn't good get treated like he was Brady or Manning.

It was about as long as I thought but was even more shocking is every excuse I said the fanboys would make (again blaming the OC, the oline, the receivers) has happened again. I need to write a book on the psychological affect a 1st round QB has on a fanbase lol. It's mind-boggling.

And they can't see they keep doing and saying the same shit.

How funny is it going to be if they activate Woodside from the practice squad and Mariota doesn't dress on Sundays?

I would seriously do that or sign Luke Falk and tell Mariota he's going to be inactive until following the bye and let him go see whatever specialists he needs to including a sports psychologist to try and figure what is wrong either physically and/or mentally. We may have to go back to him and it would be good to get him as good as he can be.

No psychologist will help him in the pocket or help him throw on the run. Or, throw up the sideline.

These are things he never did. It's not his psychology that needs to be fixed. It's yours. We've watched Mariota throw only over the middle his whole career and you are shocked he's never taken the next step?

He just got away with doing one thing well.

Oh yeah.  We have visual evidence from the All 22 youtube vids from Nine that shows that Mariota was mostly to blame and people STILL blame the other parts.  I'm laughing remember guys were blaming Davis in week 1  for not catching some shitty pass that Mariota threw.

It's like these people keep on insisting the sky is green even after being shown evidence that it's blue.
