Popular Post Jonboy
Most around here know I wasn't huge fan of the Vrabel hire. I thought he was terribly unqualified and very limited in his experience. He was a defensive-minded coach who only had 1 year as a DC. His defense was ranked one of the worst in the league. It really seemed like the main reason he got the job is because of his relationship with Robinson and his time as a player in NE. All that being said...I was willing to give him a fair shake. From the first presser, I could immediately tell I wasn't a fan of his attitude. If he won though, people would overlook it. But if we lost? The act would quickly wear thin. As far as coaching, he had a solid first year. The team was improved, but missed the playoffs and finished with the same 9-7 record as the 2 years before. So now we sit here at 2-4 with the season on the brink. It's all but guaranteed we're on the verge of drafting another franchise QB and I have to say I'm seriously questioning if I want Mike Vrabel to be the one charged with developing him. Popular Post OILERMAN
I despised his attitude. The NFL is unfair, unforgiving and will knock the cockiness out of the toughest men. For an example see him crying like a little bitch about going to work and missing his family last week. He pretty much danced on Mularkey's grave and mocked him in the intro presser which is kind of shocking, whether you liked Mularkey or not. You have got to win acting like this. He was tough on the press early but yesterday PK had him stuttering. Having said that I thought he had good grasp of the modern NFL, analytics and game management. Seemed really intelligent overall. Now I think he could go either way after seeing this season play out, he's done a lot of meathead stuff. I'm not ready to fire him but he better get it together. oldschool, IsntLifeFunny, Thrill, and 3 others
OILERMAN
On a scale of 1-10 I'd put his seat at the 5 level. He's not in danger but the idea he's untouchable is gone.
scine09
He's had a bad start so far this season but he's going nowhere. This team isn't where it is so far because of Vrabel. I still think he's an upper tier coach in this league.

The two meathead decisions the previous weeks are Hugh Jackson/Jim Caldwell level. tgo

Jonboy
Vrabel himself as a coach aside, I also hate the idea of a defensive head coach more everyday. You absolutely have to find a top-tier OC, and once you do...he'll be gone for a HC gig almost immediately. titanruss, Titans279, Number9, and 1 other

I said that I believe he gets a year 4. I put the part about getting a year 3 for the nuts saying he may lose his job this season.

That's kinda what I'm getting at here. I wonder if Robinson may just decide it's easier to wipe the slate clean and have a fresh start with a new HC who gets to pick his QB? oldschool, and Titans279
tgo
I don't think he's on the hot seat at all at this point. I do think you can attribute a couple losses over the last two years directly to his decisions though, so he absolutely must improve on gameday management. Actually the fact they have to go Qb this offseason could accelerate his firing. cenj

They only play 3 teams with losing records the rest of the season: Jags, Bucs, and Chargers.
