Republicans take both North Carolina seats

You are not paying attention to the current climate (pardon the pun).  It doesn't matter that a repub was caught in voter fraud anymore then it matters that Trump is a lying pos.  All that matters right now is tribal party participation.  there were way more repubs in that district then dems.  Dems thought they had a chance but turnout beats everything.  End of story.

Trump sucks because he's an embarrassing, overmatched pos.  But he's converted you aggrieved turds into supporting him.  Shit tends to clump.  The fact you're front running for the most contemptible NYC shyster pos to stain the oval office is proof of why he sucks.  No worries, though.  It'll all be over in 15 months.  What's hilarious is that this 'awesome' victory is more indicative of his ouster than his staying power.

Enjoy it while you can.  The forecast doesn't bode well, champ

Democrats are the party of hate (Omar, Talib, Waters, etc), and the party of crazy extremists (open borders, socialized gov't, sexual identity, abortions on demand, etc.   Republicans will run against that....and will win!

And you guys are the party of Trump.  Party of hate LOL.  blah blah, blah.  12k blatant lies and counting and when he says jump, you guys ask how high, boss!  LOL

The hate for Trump and what he represents is real.  No matter how you try to paint Dems, from Biden to Bernie as leftist commies, you don't have a chance -- no matter how loud you cry.  Enjoy it while it lasts.  Just like VA.  It's over.

Another takeaway -- this guy ran as a moderate Dem, decorated combat Marine.  As lameEarl demonstrates, it doesn't matter that a candidate has centrist positions.  They will be AOC/Omar/Tlaib'ed as leftist USA haters.  Combat marine is a USA hater in the eyes of Trumpers.  They would slag on Jesus to win at this point. Can't wait for Nov 2020!!

McCready, a former Marine and Iraq War veteran who has campaigned for the past 27 months, has stuck to a playbook that worked for Democrats running in swing districts in the 2018 midterms. He has campaigned on protecting the Affordable Care Act and cutting health costs while steering clear of more liberal positions that some Democrats worry will make it harder to win battleground areas.

Bishop’s campaign has tried to link McCready to the more liberal members of the Democratic Party, whom he labeled as “clowns” in a campaign ad in April. Bishop has thrown his weight behind Trump’s platform, framing himself as someone who will support the president on gun rights and immigration, including a wall on the southern border.

It's not really a shocker you libtards attempting to find a silver lining in your defeat.   The Democrats thought they could win so they spent all that money.  Liberal pundits predicted they would win.   Murphy destroyed his opponent, while the other one (Bishop) was closer.   Of course in the case of Bishop the previous Republican got booted for cheating.   The GOP was at a disadvantage due to the bad previous candidate.

And you are wrong, North Carolina is considered a purple state now.

That's bullshit. North Carolina has voted republican in 9 out of the last 10 presidential elections.

Republicans narrowly averted disaster as GOP state Sen. Dan Bishop eked out a 51 percent to 49 percent win over Democrat Dan McCready in North Carolina's 9th CD, where an absentee ballot fraud scandal last fall required a new election. But Tuesday's results were nothing to brag about: Bishop and Republican groups spent over $6 million to barely hang onto a district President Trump had carried by 12 points.

The results are bad news for Trump. Despite the president's Twitter victory lap, Tuesday's photo finish illustrates that the political environment hasn't gotten much better for Republicans since the 2018 midterms. Bishop lost the Charlotte suburbs Trump had carried in 2016, even though Bishop hails from those very suburbs and carried them on his way to reelection to the state senate as recently as last fall.

If Trump were to replicate Bishop's performance all over the state next November, he'd clearly lose North Carolina — a state critical to his reelection path.

Speaking of lies. Have you seen the FB post going viral about how none of the mass shooters in 2019 are African American?

This fake news is spreading like wild fire.

Left surely doesn't seem to care about lies when they feel it helps their agenda. 🤷‍♂️ politics.

What's funny is even if that waa true, which it is not, African Americans are still responsible for more homicides. 😂😂😂

Bless your heart. Did you come up with that on your own? I guess this vapid nonsense helps you avoid questioning why you are so devoted to the con artist in the WH.

That’s just how repubs roll these days. The idea of working bipartisanship is pretty much a joke in 2019.

In a stunning display of contempt for democracy, House Speaker Tim Moore, a Cleveland County Republican, called a surprise vote to overturn Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper’s veto of the state budget just after a session opened at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Democratic lawmakers and the media had been told by Republican leaders that there would be no vote in the morning.

Most Democrats were absent. Enough Republicans, aware of the secret plan, were there. When Rep. Jason Saine, a Lincolnton Republican, made the motion to reconsider the state budget, the handful of Democrats on hand objected strenuously.

“This is a travesty of the process and you know it,” said Rep. Deb Butler, D-New Hanover.

That it was, but with these Republicans a travesty of the process is just business as usual. With only 64 of the House’s 120 members present, the vote to override passed 55-9.

From the reporting, the dems were fully aware of the ability to do so and were there everyday -- missing kid's first days of school, working around hospital appointments, etc,... That said, they were explicitly told there would be no votes that morning and the media, who have an obligation to cover such activities, were told the same thing, and I'm guessing 9/11 memorial activities took precedence.
