There are obviously some pretty smart people who get paid lots of money who seem to believe this type of scheme can work and even flourish on the NFL level, it'll be interesting to see how it plays out. titansfb
His QB play in the pocket and ant legs look like Mariota.
TF_Titan
I said in another thread that week 1 in the NFL is a crap shoot. Crazy shit happens that often doesn’t predict how the rest of the season will go. I’m guessing this is an example of that. Lars

Hmm... well, according to some Mariota's performance sucked today... so we're to expect better from here on out? Better than 248 and 3 TDs? I can live with that. charleytolar
Watch the 5 TDs he threw: > the first was an 8 yard slant to a guy with a step who then managed 30 YAC to the goal line > the second, third, and fourth were nice over the shoulder balls downfield to guys with 1-3 yards of separation > the fifth was to a guy standing in the endzone with no one within five yards Congratulations but nothing really earth-shattering to be seen. Jonboy
It was the Dolphins, but man...Jackson was sensational. He's always thrown a beautiful deep ball dating back to college. Looked like his college self back there. His confidence is sky high right now and the Ravens have the Cardinals and Chiefs coming up. TerryBoats
He looked good. I'd be worried if he were in this division.

He still has to make the throws on TDs 2, 3 & 4. Does he not get credit for those? What if they're overthrown or he tap dances into a sack? He was under no pressure on any of them. Everything happens in a context. Eleven carries for 92 yards comes down to earth when one of them was for 77. Vick could throw a spiral over 70 yards in the air on target while he was running and he was built to take the punishment of running. Jackson is smaller built and seemingly not as accurate. But why anybody wouldn't be excited to see a new type QB is amazing. Jax biggest problem for me is his uni. It's going to be interesting to watch his career because I think somebody said he has the "it" factor. Guys with the "it" factor end up accomplishing a lot. BM has it too, but his attitude just started rubbing me the wrong way last season. He has no grace in losing. He practically told the Browns fans to kiss his ass in his post game presser. You can't be "Mr Happy" when you win and "Mr Fuck You" when you lose. I'm still glad to see all these young QB coming in who seem like they can play. It's starting to get lean at the top. Tom, Ben, Drew, Aaron and Phillip will most likely be gone in two-three years. We need new greats.

Vick was an electric talent with a big inconsistent arm which could make plays, but Jackson's college production and tape shows a guy who may actually be a decent passer. It was only the dolphins, who are terrible, but 85% completion , 16 YPA , and 5 TDs suggest that he can actually throw the ball.

I will have to take your word on that, but I do remember Vick starting for the Eagles. I thought he did a decent job and that was after he had been out of the game for doggie abuse. When Vick came into the league his passing numbers were much lower than after he went on his retreat. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/V/VickMi00.htm
